That's her with glasses on which she normally has on except for when I put that she takes them off.
Amber's POV
We arrived to New York City from London, and I just finished my room.I was a quiet girl. I had glasses, and I loved reading books. Some may say they're boring. I like to think that they're a magical get away. Adventures full of drama, romance, mystery, and fun. We got here early this morning. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Amber Marie Jones. I play acoustic guitar, piano, and sing a little. I'm more of a book worm. It was 6 in New York, and I had school tomorrow. Senior year. Nonetheless, I decided to walk down to the coffee shop anyways. (That's how she looks at this point in the story).
I grabbed my bag. I put three books, my phone, keys, and wallet into it. Then I hung it over my shoulder, and walked downstairs. "Hey Amber, did you set your room up?" My brother asked. "Obviously." I said. "I'm going to the coffee shop we saw down the road." I said. I walked into the living room. "I'll be back, goodbye." I said. My mother ignored me. I walked out the door, and closed it behind me. It was different in New York, everything and everyone was just different. I had a lot to get used to. Like hearing cars and honking at night, and still being able to sleep soundly. I got to the coffee shop, and walked in. I ordered a tea, then sat down and read my book. "Here you go gorgeous." The guy at the counter said winking at me, and handing me my change. "Thanks.." I said. I was bisexual. My mum and dad knew but, they weren't that excited. Their daughter who's supposed to go to Harvard, and be the smartest person ever, likes girls and guys. I could tell my parents resented me a bit for it. I was smart though. I won every award that I could, I was in the school math contests, the spelling bee, everything. My mom and dad expected me to be perfect, like my brother Parker. He's the top of his class at Columbia University. That's why we moved to this city. To be closer to Parker. To get away from my dark past, to live a new life here in New York, since I ruined our old one with my bad reputation. I thought it was rather dumb that we had to move just for my bratty brother, who missed his mommy and daddy because he cant take care of himself. He got everything he wanted. I never asked for much. I didn't like attention, I didn't like people buying stuff for me, I stood up for myself when needed. I was simple. Plain. I felt like I was adopted sometimes to be honest. I've always had that feeling in the pit of my stomach. My dad was a war hero, and right now he's at war. He's been at war for about 6 years. He's just moving from one war to the next. The barista came out, and gave me my drink. She was breath taking.
"Here you go, love." She said. She sounded Australian. "You have a nice accent." I said. "Thank you, I'm half British and half Australian." She said. I nodded. "Cool, well... thanks." I said, and took a sip of my tea. She nodded. She flashed me a bright smile. "I'm Avery, by the way." She said. "Nice to meet you, I'm Amber." I said, shaking her hand. She nodded, and walked away. I started reading titanic. I've heard the book is better than the movie. I love the movie a lot. I guess you could say I'm a sucker for romance. A hopeless romantic. It was soon closing time, and I walked out. I got home, and ate dinner. After that, I took a shower. Then I put on pajamas, my glasses, and put my hair in a bun. I laid down and fell asleep, dreaming of what could possibly happen tomorrow.
