yeoreum had tears streaming down her face when jisung's name was announced. after boa's painfully long pauses, it was finally down to top 2.

he did it.

he actually did it.

daniel's name came out which made the audience cheer loudly. at this point, jisung's sister was trying to comfort yeoreum who couldn't hold back the emotions.

you did it, euigeon. you did it.

jaehan had lead his little sister to the backstage area, bumping into a few other trainees along the way. yeoreum, with her usual friendly and bright personality, greeted everyone she possibly could.

"euigeon-ah!" yeoreum yelled, trying to get his attention. which was a success.

without any warning, yeoreum had jumped into his arms and held him tight.

"im so proud of you." yeoreum sniffled into his chest. daniel was lost and didnt know what to do.

ever since they were little, yeoreum was the only one who could actually pronounce his old name correctly. when daniel legally changed his name, yeoreum continued to call him euigeon.

yeoreum's head was buried in his chest as she continued to cry. daniel looked up over her head (bcos shes a smol bean) and saw seongwoo pretending to hug a person, signalling daniel to hug yeoreum.

he wrapped his strong arms around her small body and sighed.

it was moments like this he was waiting for ever since he fell for her.

"you did it." she repeated, this time, out loud for him to hear. "im sorry my news was so sudden. im sorry i couldnt be a good friend and go the previous stages you. im sorry..."

"n-no!" daniel held her shoulders gently and looked down at her. "i should be the one that's sorry. im sorry i couldnt be happy for you. im sorry for ignoring you. i was the one who wasnt being a good friend."

"its okay... you were allowed to be angry." she smiled through her tears.

"yeoreum-ah!" jisung screamed, grabbing the younger girl's attention. she broke herself free from daniel's arms and hugged jisung tightly.

"im so proud of you, you meme!" yeoreum laughed. "all those years finally payed off."

"ahhh... im gonna miss your ugly face!" jisung scrunched up his face and squeezed her cheeks. "okay, im gonna give you some alone time with niel." jisung whispered into her ear before patting her head and walking off to greet other people.

"you're leaving tomorrow, right?" daniel asked.

yeoreum nodded while looking down.

is this really what she wanted? to leave her entire childhood here along with the people she loved most?

"i'll wait for you." daniel suddenly said, holding her two small hands in his larger, much warmer ones.

"no daniel. you can't wait three years. you deserve to find someone special." yeoreum replied. "i'll be fine."

"no." daniel shook his head and whined like a little child, which she found quite cute. "you're the only person i really see myself with. i like you. i fell for you. and let's be honest, you really think jaehan's gonna let you date some stranger? heck no. i promised him that i'd protect you."

"well i-"

"kang daniel!"

oh how much yeoreum and daniel love that raspy female voice with a strong satoori.

"eommeoni!" yeoreum grinned, smile stretching ear to ear as daniel's mother hugged the both of them.

"aigoo my little babies!" she said kissing yeoreum's cheek first and then daniel's. since daniel was the youngest out of three boys, daniel's mother cherished yeoreum like a daughter because she never got to have one.

"so how about dinner at my restaurant this weekend? you kids should come up to busan again!"

"eommeoni. yeoreum is leaving tomorrow. she's studying abroad." daniel explained. "i think only the boys will come."

"omo! where are you going?" daniel's mother expressed her concerns. "you're going alone? who's going to cook homemade meals for you? you can't eat that frozen instant stuff!"

"eommeoni i'll be okay!" yeoreum giggled. "i am going alone and i am very capable of cooking for myself. i promise not to eat too much instant food."

"oh, my beautiful daughter." she caressed yeoreum's face which made her ears turn red.

"oh daniel! is this your sister?" seonho approached the small group as daniel swung his arm over the byeongari's shoulders.

"ani. she's my best friend, kim yeoreum. she's trains under the same company as me. she's also jaehan's little sister." daniel said. yeoreum bowed to seonho since he is slightly, well a lot more, famous than her.

"but your mum- oHHHHH i gET IT." seonho winked at daniel which made him smack him over the head.

"don't get the wrong idea you punk." daniel said.

the cube trainee, now member of wanna one, guanlin called over his fellow label mate. seonho said his goodbyes to daniel, daniel's mother and yeoreum and walked away.

"reum-ah." jaehan placed his hand on his little sister's head to get her attention. "we should go home. you need rest before your flight."

"jaehan, i-" yeoreum turned to daniel and his mother. "i'm just gonna talk with my brother for a bit."

daniel nodded in assurance as yeoreum and jaehan walked down the narrow, packed hallway, attempting to get a little bit of privacy.

"whats up, reum?" jaehan asked, concern all over his face.

"should i really go? or am i making a mistake?..." yeoreum asked her older brother for advice.

"look. its not my future. i don't care what you do. as long as you're happy, i'm happy. i will support you no matter what you do. and even if you did back out now, its never too late for anything." jaehan replied.

yeoreum groaned in frustration. she didn't see herself as an idol any time soon but she definitely didn't see herself without daniel or any of the mmo boys in the next few years. in summary, she couldn't imagine what it would be like to not see her family on a regular basis.

"so... what do you want to do?" jaehan asked.
