Kushina was singing a soft lullaby to Naruto to calm his crying, he had been crying on and off since Minato left. I think he misses his father and knows that something is wrong. Kushina thought to herself as she kissed her sons cheek and smiled at the six scars that were visible on his cheeks. Three on each side giving him the appearance of having whiskers like the Kyuubi nine tailed fox demon that she had hosted for most of her life. Her son had Minato's very bright yellow hair, it could even rival the suns rays that kiss the earth. From what she could tell he would also have Minato's ocean blue eyes, although, she could see some bits of her purple eyes in the purple flecks that were scattered within his eyes. He has such lovely eyes; some woman will take one look into his eyes and instantly declare him hers. Kushina thought with a smile as she cradled her son closer to her body for warmth as she drifted off to sleep.

Minato and the Kyuubi arrived to see a touching scene between his wife and son as they lay sleeping together. It was almost peaceful and made him forget what he had to do. Somehow during his battles, he seemed to have been cut by the mask mans kunai and scratched by the Kyuubi, he knew he wouldn't last much longer. I must do this, I have to have my death mean something. I want it to mean that the village I have cared for, for so long will finally be safe from the Kyuubi. I want my son to grow up to be a hero for what he is about to have thrown upon his head, and I want him to know my name as he will be growing up in the care of his hot-headed mother. I want Kushina to give our son the life she never had till she met me, I wish I could be there to see the wonderful man that she will raise him to be. Minato thought to himself as a tear rolled down his cheek from his left eye.

"Kushina, my love. Wake up." Minato said as he was having trouble with restraining the Kyuubi without chains.

"Mhmm...Oh, Minato your back." Kushina said as she rubbed her eyes with her right hand, her left hand still cradling Naruto to her.

"Kushina, I'm sorry love. We have to re-seal the Kyuubi before he gets loose again. But you are too weak to have the demon fox sealed into you again." Minato said as more tears fell down his face as he gazed at his son, his son who is almost a mirror replica of him.

"No Minato, not our son. He was just born today, he wouldn't be able to handle the sealing." Kushina said sitting up suddenly clutching her son to her chest. Naruto's hands grabbed a piece of her red hair that had drifted into his view, he had her hair and held it close to him. Almost as if it were a memento to remember her by.

"Kushina we have to if we wish to save the village. To save the home we wanted to raise Naruto in. We do not have much time my love. If we do not do this now we will all be killed, including our son." Minato said in a clenched and sad voice as he still struggled with the Kyuubi. "Our son, will be able to handle this burden we are placing on him. He has your strength Kushina, and he has my stubbornness. He will take after us and be a hero to our village." Minato said as he brought the Kyuubi to the ritual table, the Kyuubi fought him the whole way.

"Fine, Minato I will help you with this crazy plot, but I do not want our son hated and picked on like I was." Kushina said with clinched teeth as she held her son tightly with tears in her eyes. Handing him over to Minato after she secured the Kyuubi in her Chakra Chains that she received from her Uzumaki bloodline.

Minato clutched his son, his only child to his chest and gave him a kiss on his forehead as he said a silent good bye. He set up a barrier wall to prevent the fox from escaping. He hoped that his son would not hate them in the future or Kushina would kill him. He held their son up so Kushina could say a silent prayer to Kami as she gave Naruto a kiss on his forehead also. He then gently sat him down on the ritual table by himself, this way Minato could perform the sealing jutsu to put the nine-tailed fox into his baby boy.

The fox suddenly noticed what was going on around him and started struggling to get out of the chains. Kushina being as weak as she was, was barely containing the demon.

"Oh hell no. I am not being sealed for a fourth time. And I am not being contained by a child." The Kyuubi said with a growl as he extended his claw to swipe at the child to kill him, thus it would end the ritual sealing. This child would not be able to handle me. If he survives the sealing that is. Kyuubi thought to itself.

Minato had placed the seal and was preforming the reaper death seal to take some of the burden away from Naruto. He noticed the claw coming for his son and did the only logical thing he could think of, stop summoning the reaper and step in front of the claw. He only realized as the claw was piercing his chest through his back, that Kushina also had stepped into the way of the claw, she was in front of him. He could see that the claw had come through her chest and the Kyuubi was still pushing it forward to try and reach Naruto. Their bodies prevented any harm coming to their son, and just as suddenly as the claw pierced them—it disappeared. The seal he placed on his son to contain the tailed beast had finally sucked it in.

"Kushina, one of us was supposed to live to take care of Naruto. I was going to die for our son." Minato said as he was feeling irritated as he leaned over to have them both braced against the ritual table, they were both leaning over their quiet son staring at his ocean and purple flecked eyes.

"If your allowed to die to save our son and village, then I should be allowed to die to save our sweet son." Kushina said as she glanced over her left shoulder at her husband.

Kushina Uzumaki-Namikaze and her husband Minato Namikaze reached out for their son. Each taking a small baby hand and holding it. Kushina got Naruto's right hand to hold, and Minato got Naruto's left hand to hold. Both told their son what they wished for him for the future and got up, barely on the table to lay beside their son. This was the first and last thing they did as a family. Naruto was not making any sound as he lay contently between his parents, holding their hands.
