Welcome.
This is Luminescent Aurora.
Usually the introduction is written after the story is published, but today I'm writing it before. I'd like to explain a few things before I begin; the title and what Luminescent Aurora is going to be about (hopefully). I truly recommend you don't skip this and go on to read the beginning of the chapters, you'll need this to understand. So keep reading. The title Luminescent Aurora came to me in quite a weird way. To be honest, I was looking up random words, and I came across 'Luminescence' and then soon I found 'aurora'. Here are the definitions of these words before I explain further:
luminescence
ˌluːmɪˈnɛs(ə)ns
noun. the emission of light by a substance that has not been heated, as in fluorescence and phosphorescence.
"honey fungus produces a ghostly greenish luminescence"aurora
ɔːˈrɔːrə
noun. 1. a natural electrical phenomenon characterized by the appearance of streamers of reddish or greenish light in the sky, especially near the northern or southern magnetic pole. The effect is caused by the interaction of charged particles from the sun with atoms in the upper atmosphere. In northern and southern regions it is respectively called aurora borealis or Northern Lights and aurora australis or Southern Lights.2. literary
the dawn. Now, luminescence (speaking as a person who doesn't fully understand this word) is something to do with giving off life from a substance that hasn't been heated or is at a certain temperature. An aurora is a gorgeous natural light in the sky.
So I thought about these 2 words, both about sources of light, and decided that they sort of went against each other. One was natural beauty and the other had to be created. The title of this book is basically just a mash of 2 words. I created it without fully understanding it, yet that is exactly what signifies life. We talk, write, create and go about our days, but really, what do we know of life? We know no meaning of life. We don't fully understand it.
Anyway, I don't want to get into at that just yet, we are only in the introduction! In conclusion, there's no understanding or meaning to my title, but to you it could mean whatever you like it to.Now to explain what I'm hoping for this book...
I'm one of those people that just write as things come to mind. I haven't planned anything in this introduction. This book is going to be exactly the same.
I first came up with the idea of this book in class a few weeks ago. I was thinking about life and was getting really confused but then I started to come up with philosophical statements and questions. I told one of my friends these thoughts and she laughed and said I should start a book. She was sort of joking I believe, but I decided I'm going to write it anyway!
Luminescent Aurora will hopefully be about life, beginnings and ends, thoughts, questions, and inspiration. It will be the deep part of my brain (though it's quite small!) poured out onto the screen you're reading this from right now. It will be me.
I truly do hope you enjoy this book, no matter how long it may be. It could only be 8 more chapters, or it could be 80, or even 800. It could never be completed, it all depends on what comes to mind. I'm not going to force myself to write 1 chapter a week or anything like that, because what comes from my brain through my typing fingers would be forced. I want to write quality, not a bad mush of words that was written because I hadn't written in a few weeks.
You may need to be patient or you may need to read quickly, I'm not even sure myself. But whatever this book turns out to be, I hope I like it. I hope that I'M proud of it. I don't mind what the readers think, I want ME to be happy and that's all I'm writing for.
Enjoy
