When Darwin's body had finished twitching, Rob removed the spear and wiped its point clean on her clothes.
Then he turned to the computer. He would need to find a way to delete this image permanently. It revelealed the truth about him, the truth he could let no one know.
The picture he had displayed at Fenway park was truthful in depicting his anomaly as much stronger than the average human's. Rob's connection to divinity was no lie.
Rob smiled at the memory of the day two years ago he had gone to scan his brain in the BrainCleaver, the day he had learned his destiny.
Before Rob had left the room full of scientists to run the scan, that fool Adrian had turned to him and said “It’s almost noon, your scan should show the anomaly pointing almost straight up.”
The anomaly depicted in Rob's brain scan didn't point up towards the sun. It pointed down.
Down into the ground.
