Trapped in reality

Chapter 3

There he was, smiling at the girl next to her and I couldn't stop feeling worried that he would do something that would make my life turn around and destroy all that I had. I tried to listen to what everyone was saying and then I heard my name.

"Miss Thomas ", i could hear Mrs Johnson saying making me switch off my day dream

" yes?" I said with a tired voice and I tried to sound enthusiastic about what she was going to make me do

" could you play guitar for harry ? I saw in your application that you can play drums, guitar and piano, that's true right ?"

" yes I can. and I would love too" I said not knowing who this harry guy was but he just saved me from singing today and that's exactly what I didn't wanted to do today

I stood up and followed my teacher to the stage and started tunning my guitar, ohh how much I loved the sound of strings tunning against my ear, I couldn't believe that I missed it to so much, and It just made me remember it.

*flashback on*

"this is a lovely guitar lady, are you sure you want to sell it ? i would give you £200 for it"

"yes, that would be perfect" I didn't event blinked my eyes when I said that! of course it was hurting me that I was selling the most important part of my life to this music shop but I needed the money and I needed it fast"

*flashback off *

I finished tunning the guitar turned around to see that boy I have been trying to ignore for the last 10 hours, but there he was smiling and making his way to me... wait could it be that he didn't remembered who I was ? because I know we have to use masks to cover our faces because we don't want to be seen and I didn't even moaned that much to make him understand that it was me from the voice... could it actually be that I have been over exaggerating all of this ?

"hey" his voice made me drop out my thoughts for the second time today first because of Mrs Johnson and then him ? have I been zoning out that much ?

" hello" I said between smiles and I managed to give him my hand for him to shake which he quickly did and it made me believe that he actually doesn't know !

" what song to do you want me to play in the guitar ?" I asked trying to remember all the chords

"iris by goo goo dolls, do you know it ?"

I nodded quickly and start playing the chords I once played, it sounded like heaven.

I started playing it and he started singing and as soon as I heard his voice it made my heart stop, how could he sing it so perfectly but at same time how could his voice seem so broken like if was going through the same that the singer was once he wrote the song .

And I don't want the world to see me

As soon as he finished I had a small tear rolling down my face and hitting the floor with all the pain from his soul. that was incredible and I was speechless.

"well done harry" Mrs Johnson said and then she continued " well that's it class I see you all tomorrow and it will be the time for the group 1 to sing, so prepare a song for tomorrow"

I got up the chair I was sat while I was playing guitar and returned to my seat on the back of the auditorium to gather all my stuff to leave.

I checked my phone and realise I had 2 unread messages from Simon. I opened them and read it.

message number 1 -

" we finished earlier and we are already on our way to my house xx" that was sent 1 hour ago

message number 2-

"could you get some snacks on your way here please, we already picked the movie and guess what? toy story xx love you" that was sent only 15 minutes ago

I typed a simple and quick text and sent it back.

" I am on my way now and yes I will get some snacks, love you too xxx"

And happy with my answer I put my phone in my pocket and closed the bag leaving the auditorium and making my way out of the college .
