"So what happened. He's been off just texting me since last night." She explains. "Spill."

"Ok." I say. "Well basically, me and Joe have been getting along, and we didn't really know where we stood with each other. But then we talked and said we were just friends and we couldn't be more than that because of the distance."

"Ok," Zoe says, "and?"

"And that's it." I laugh.

"It's not."

"Is?"

"No it's not because you laugh when you lie." She smiles. "What happened after?"

"Well-" I say, half tempted to lie. "We said we were friends, and then like, 2 seconds later, he kind of like, pounced on me."

"He did!" Zoe says shocked, almost shouting it loud enough for Joe to hear. I nod in response.

"Yeah, he kissed me. And I sat there like a lemon and took it."

"Oh," she says.

"Yeah, and then he pulled away, and said that he was sorry and rushed off. We haven't talked since." I explain.

"Why?" Zoe asks me.

I shrug. "It would be awkward."

"No it wouldn't Em." She smiles. "If I know my brother, he's normally shy around new people. I've never known him actually go in for a kiss before."

"Seriously." I raise my eyebrows.

"Yes! He likes you, so talk to him." She smiles. "And It's downright obvious he's grown on you."

"Yeah he has." I laugh. "Thanks Zoe."

It's then we hear clambering of footsteps from the stairs, and I turn my head to see Alfie walking up them.

"All set up." He tells us, walking over and giving Zoe a peck on the lips as Zoe stands up.

"We better be off Em." Zoe tells me, hugging me tightly. It's when my arms are around Zoe I hear the door open, and Caspar and Jade walk in.

Looking at Jade, she's got the biggest smile on her face that I've seen in a long time, even made bigger at he sight of Alfie and Zoe.

"Hey everyone." Jade waves, walking over to Zoe. "Nice to see you Zoe." She waves as Alfie gives Caspar that man hug that boys always do.

"Hey Jade." Alfie waves as he gives her a hug too. "We were just going."

"Can't you guys stay?" Caspar asks, taking his muddy shoes off.

"No, we have meetings and have to get home to see Nala. It's a long drive to Brighton." Zoe laughs.

"Bye everyone!" Zoe waves, as Caspar opens he door for them when they walk out. He shuts the door behind the couple once they've reached Zoe's Audi, and Jade's gaze fixes directly on me.

"What happened?" She asks, leaving us and Caspar in the room.

"Check twitter." I say before walking over to the stairs. "I have to fix something."

I clamber down the stairs, walking past the guest bedroom and Caspar's room, all the way down to Joe's where I spent half the night last night.

The door is wide open, his back to me as I walk inside the doorway. I admire the new camera set up on a tripod, the one next to where Joe is stood adjusting his lighting equipment.

"Nice camera." Is all I can come up with. He turns around and spots me, his eyes a darker shade than the usual. The little lines are only there through concentration, not happiness. "Can we talk?"

"Of course, come sit." He motions to the bed.

I sit at the end of his bed reluctantly, the sense of tension extremely apparent, even though both of try to ignore it.

"So, what up?" He asks me.

"You didn't have to apologise last night." I sat in one big breath. I see Joe's movement slow down, his head slowly turning to look at me.

"So, we are gonna talk about this?"

"Yeah, if that's alright?"

"Yeah, but I thought we were friends and that's it?" He asks casually. Did I miss something? Did that kiss even happen last night? Didn't he remember it?

"Maybe I don't want that." I shrug, breathless as my body won't let any more air in.

Joe's movement practically stops, his full concentration fixed on my face and not the lighting anymore. "Wait?"

"Yeah."

"You don't wanna be just friends?" He questions.

I shake my head lightly, rolling my lips in and biting them underneath my teeth. I can see his brain ticking, his eyes twitching. I can feel myself shaking, a little air in my lungs that won't come out.

"You wanna be more than that?" He asks.

I lightly nod. "Do you?"

"Would I have kissed you if I didn't?" He tells me, and the slight smile on his face is the first I've seen of it in the past 24 hours. "So, shall we do this? Should we date?"

I nod again, and it's the first real smile I've had in a long time. He walks towards me, leaning down to reach my height and whilst I'm sat down and hugs me gently, like he might breaks me if he hugs me back to hard.

"I'm still sorry." He giggles.

"Why?" I ask.

"For what happened." He says. "And for this-"

His lips peck mine twice consecutively before me lets me go completely leaving my body cold.

"You tease." I grin, walking over to the side of him.

"So tell me how much you love this camera than. I know you would have been dying to."
