Chapter 11 - Grass leader (rewriting)

Today was the day I was going to challenge the Eterna's gym and get that forest badge! I had my Pokémon in their poke balls and of course Pikachu on my shoulder. I was in front of the gym, ready to walk in. "You ready?" asked Pikachu and I gave him a nod as in to say yes.

I walked in and inside there was a huge lush area with trees all around. I walked in and gazed around the place, it was huge and there was also no one in sight yet. I soon spotted someone, not too far away from me. I walked towards the person and it was a girl. She then noticed me and looked my direction. She had black and orange hair that was cut short. Her orange eyes were gazing right at mine. She walked up to me and held her hand out in front of her.

"Hi there and I'm Gardenia, the leader of this gym" she happily said and I shook her hand. "I'm Sapphira and I'm here to challenge the gym" I thankfully said and we stopped shaking hands. "Well then why don't we start now then?" she asked with a big grin on her face. I nodded and looked at Pikachu who also nodded.

She stood in front of me 500 yards away. "Alright this will be a three on three battles! So let these battles begin!" shouted the referee. "Alright go my lovely Cherubi!" she shouted and tossed a poke ball in the air. A beam of red light came out of the poke ball and out came a Cherubi onto the grass. I quickly got out my pokedex and checked out the Pokémon. I quickly put it away and got a poke ball form my belt. "Alright go starly!" I shouted and threw the poke ball into the air and out came starly.

"Alright I'm first up!" shouted starly while flapping his wings in the air. "You can make the first move!" she shouted across to me. "Alright use Wing attack!" Starly's wings glowed and hit the Cherubi hard. "Not bad. Now use Grass knot!" shouted Gardenia. Her Cherubi quickly got up and used Leaf blade that got hit by starly. It only did a bit of damage. "Use Quick attack!" Starly then slammed into Cherubi, making it crash into the ground hard. But still the Cherubi got back up and smirked at us.

"Now use Magical leaf!" her Cherubi. Leaves of different colours came flying at starly. He took the hit and fell out of the sky, landing hard on the ground. "Starly!" I cried. There was a dust cloud around him and was hard to see. "Come on Starly! You're not going to lose now? Are you!" I shouted and there was still no response. "STARLY!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. Then a shadow zoomed out of the dust cloud and into the sky.

I saw it fly up and smiled. "Yeah right like it's over now!" shouted a voice in the sky and of course it was starly. "Good, now use wing attack on Cherubi then!" I shouted and point at the Cherubi. Starly's wings glowed and he dived straight at Cherubi. Starly was too fast and the Cherubi took the hit. Starly flew back up to the sky and looked down at the now fainted Cherubi.

"Cherubi is now unable to battle! Sapphira and her Starly win!" shouted the Referee and point one of the flags at us. "Good job Starly!" I shouted at him and he nodded in happiness. Gardenia returned her Cherubi back in its poke ball and grabbed another poke ball in her hand. "Good job in that battle, but I won't lose this time! Go Turtwig!" she shouted and threw her poke ball high in the sky. A red light came out of the poke ball and landed on the grass. A small Turtwig then appeared on the ground and she caught the poke ball.

"Alright let the battles begin!" shouted the referee and lifted both flags up in the air. "Use Leaf storm!" shouted Gardenia. Her Turtwig was fast and the leaf storm came so fast that Starly didn't have time to get out of the way. Starly lost control and fell to the ground hard. Starly got to his feet, but before he could take off, the Turtwig came charging at him and used tackle. He went flying back and landed hard on the ground.

He struggled to stand and the Turtwig just smirked at him. "Alright Starly you can do this! Now use tackle!" I shouted and he nodded. Starly charged at the Turtwig but he quickly dodged and got him from behind with bite. Starly screamed in pain and then the Turtwig let go and used tackle on him. Starly went flying through the air and landed hard on the ground. "Starly!" I shouted in concern. Starly hadn't fainted yet and was struggling to stand. "Starly! You can do this I believe you can!" I shouted and he looked at me shocked.
