Chapter 2:

“This uniform pisses me off so much.” Logan Howes said, tugging at her skirt to make it longer.

“It looks fine, now please can we get it over and done with already?”

“I guess.” She replied. Looking around she felt scared, she didn’t want to have to do this all over again, but she knew she couldn’t put it off anymore.

The school was huge. And to be honest, you probably wouldn’t think it was just a public school. Crowds of both genders mingled out the front of the school. Some laughing hysterically, others just sitting there.

“Remind me again, why I didn’t pick an all-girl’s school?”

“I don’t know, but I’m glad you didn’t.”

“Why?”

“Because it would be awkward”

“How,” She questioned.

“Because; it would weird with me sitting in with you”

“Ahh, Ok.”

“Come on Howes, let’s get you in there.” He said, offering me to hold his hand.

“Oh, kill me now.” She said, grabbing his hand and walked forward.

The pair received several glares, mostly at their entwined hands; others were jealous glares towards Logan. She heard whispers, and laughing and anything else you could think of. But that didn’t bother her, what bothered her was him, casually standing at the top of the narrow stairs that they were climbing. A grin on his face, acting like he wasn’t the man that single handily ruined her life. That man was Loker Jameson. As they reached the top, she looked at him; shivers running down her body.

He blew a kiss, deciding now would be the perfect time to taunt her. Her breath caught in her throat, and she had trouble breathing. Gabriel had to support her as they walked past, not a single breath leaving her body.

“Hey, it’s over.” Gabriel said, and Logan realised that they were in the main hall.

Tears were falling freely down her cheeks as she nodded her head.

“Come on; let’s go to the main office.”

“You think they’d update their timetables by now.” Logan said, walking through the door to her first class – English. If her eyes weren’t glued to the piece of paper in her hands, she would have realised that sets of eyes staring at her.

“Nice of you to finally come back to reality, Miss. Howes” Mr Dunsan said. Logan felt a pang in her chest.

“Excuse me?” Gabriel asked, confusing playing on his face.

“You take almost as year off of school; don’t tell anyone why and now your back being obnoxiously loud and tardy.”

“Did you really just say that?” Gabe asked.

“Gabe, stop.” Logan said, breaking the silence.

She walked into the classroom, not saying a word as she walked passed a confused teacher. She found an empty desk and sat down in it, Gabriel following her lead.

“What, you don’t have anything to say for yourself, Logan.” She heard a voice say. She looked up from the desk, staring at the person who said it. He looked at her, his smile wide. She felt Gabe grab her hand, trying to calm her down. She looked back down at the desk, trying to ignore him, her fingers fiddling with the pencil that was placed in front of her.
