I stepped outside. Cold air hit my face and filled my lungs. I walked toward the familiar stables. The jet black paint with white trim looked so stunning on this cold winters morning. A familiar grey face poked their head round the stable door. I laughed "hi Penny, how are you this morning?" She nickered to me as if saying "I'm hungry". I grabbed a chunk of carrot out of my pocket and lay it flat on my hand. Penny  gobbled it down as fast as she could while a stroked her soft, grey face. I walked over to the next stall. Cookie, my Appaloosa mare poked her head out the door. "Hi there, are you ready to be ridden?" I asked her. I stroked her pretty face. She nudged me, wanting treats. I pulled more carrot of my pocket and fed her some. As she crunched them I walked to the last stall on this block. "Hey there buddy" my only gelding, Sunny, poked his head round. I stroked his golden neck. He was a massive horse. He stood at 16.3hh and was an amazing jumper.
