Prologue
Ryan's POV **
"That sucks," I said, not taking my eyes off the screen. I was playing Xbox One and the game was Mario Cart. Peter was continuously talking about God knows what. Peter was my best friend and he consisted of food, television, and gaming. But he's nothing compared to a pro gamer like me! "Ryan Turner, are you even listening to me?!" He asked angrily. Now he started to sound like Mom! "Unbelievable!" He exclaimed, standing up. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. What the heck were you talking about anyway?" I asked, jamming on the buttons on my controller.
"Julie, man! She broke up with me!" Peter said wearily. Julie was Peter's girlfriend and they've been dating for only four months.
"Ohhhh, well sorry, man blah-blah-blah..." I trailed off, enjoying the game.
Silence filled my game room. "I was only testing you, Ry. See? You never listen," Peter said calmly. The game ended and I won first place. "I did! I did!" I defended, raising both my hands up and facing Peter, "You broke up with Julie, did you?"
"No, I didn't."
"Then what's the point?" I sighed, irritated.
"Dude don't you know?" Peter asked and shot me a face like man-what-the-heck's-got-into-you.
"What do I not know?" I said, almost like a yell.
"You have a new neighbour. Her name's Aria, Aria Alston."
