Miracle 2: Firefly

Chapter 15

When I woke up the next morning the light was barely shining through the curtains. I have to go to the hospital and turn in my packet for the job. The other day when I woke up after sleeping on the couch at Jades I grabbed my packet and it was all filled out. It had all my medical information and everything. I asked around the house to see who did it but nobody said they did.

So, today I am taking the day and going to the hospital while Andrew is with Aaron. After I got out of bed not waking up Aaron, I walked to the bathroom getting a quick shower and got ready as fast as I possibly could. After straightening my hair and doing my makeup I walked out into the kitchen to see my man looking in the fridge.

"Good morning!" I chime happily.

He turned around giving me a small tired smile, "Morning, babe"

I shuddered at the sound of him calling me babe again, it's like a dream come true.

I walked over giving him his good morning kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled, "It feels so freaking good to finally be back in your arms"

Aaron let a smirk fall on his face, "I could say the same about you"

I leaned back in and kissed him passionately. His hands traveled down to my butt giving it a little squeeze. This is honestly the dream right here. My shirtless boyfriend and I making out in our kitchen.

Pulling back, I took a few steps back and then sat down on the bar stool, "So, I'm gonna go to the hospital today and turn in my huge ass packet. Hopefully, I will get the job because I can help pay for stuff and then I can pay you back for the moving truck"

"Babe, you don't need to pay me back. I make good money, I can handle it" He chuckled.

"None of the stuff is yours that the truck is bringing so I don't see why you should pay for it"

"But it is my son's stuff, and my girlfriend's stuff so it's not that big of a deal. It's perfectly fine"

I looked down at my hands where I was fiddling with my fingers, "I can handle it though, I can also help pay the bills and food and for stuff around the house"

"Miracle, I don't want you to pay for absolutely everything. I'm the man of the house so I should be one of the main providers. You can buy the food and I will let you know if I need help with the bills. Just, don't worry about any of that" Aaron moved to the bar and rested against it looking me in the eyes.

"I can provide though, I can actually do it unlike in high school"

"No, now forget about it and leave before I push you out the door" He warned causing me to giggle to myself.

"Fine"

I stood up and walked around the counter and gave him a big kiss.

I left without another word except for Aaron yelling that he will see me when I get home. When I got out to my car I turned on some loud jams and made my way to the hospital.

When I got there, I found a perfect parking spot and I speed walked into the main entrance. The women who I talked to before was the one who was sitting at the front desk.

"Hello," I say walking up to her. When her eyes met mine she smiled, "Well you came back. I will call the boss and have him come meet you so that you can do your interview"

"That would be wonderful" I smiled setting my purse down.

She said a few words and before I know it a tall older man was standing in front of me with a wide smile on his face, "Hello, my name is Jon and I am the head of ultrasound technician. " I shook his hand and smiled.

"I'm Miracle, I worked at another hospital in Tennessee and I just moved back to be with my family"

"Are you married, Miracle?" he asked as we walked.

"No, but I am in a relationship and I have a beautiful little boy" I laughed.

He shook his head in an understanding way, "So, you need a job to support your family?"

"Basically yes"

"Then you're hired" He raised his eyebrows in a smiling funny face way.

My eyes went huge, "Really?"

He nodded his head repeatedly, "Yes ma'am"

I stopped walking and gave him a great big hug, "Thank you so much"

"I'll show you to where you will put your things and then I will call you when I need you to come in. so right now you are actually on call. I will look over your things and you will be paid $38.63 an hour and you will work up to 10 hours or the lowest to 5 hours. I will give you some information on it, but that is the main stuff. You will come in through the entrance and then you will come back into this room" He said opening the door revealing a locker room.

I looked around excitedly, "I will give you your locker number as soon as I possibly can, other than that you are free to go"

"Thank you so much, Jon"

"Leave, if I need you I will call you"

He waved goodbye and left me to look around for myself. This is going to be awesome. After looking around I walked back to the main entrance that is thankfully really close to the locker room. Probably because I will be working all around the hospital and not just in one little general area.

I waved bye to the women at the front desk and she gladly waved back. When I walked out into the nice warm weather of August I couldn't help but let my smile take over my face. I feel like a completely other person right now. I feel free and like I have nothing holding me down. My life is finally coming back together, I have the man of my dreams and I have my baby and a job that almost pays forty dollars an hour. It's almost perfect right now.

When I got home, nobody was in the house I even looked in the close to see if they were hiding from me. But I spotted the back-door open and I heard the sound of Andrew laughing. I took off my shoes and looked out the door to see the two boys playing on a tire swing.

I don't say anything I just stand there and watch them. Andrews brown eyes were as bright as his dads always are when he is happy. His blonde hair is blowing in the wind as Aaron pushes him. I pull out my phone and snap a few pictures of it because it is one sight that I always want to look back on.
