Your Daughter's POV
I can hear screams and shouts coming from downstairs.
The sound of glass breaking is evident and I cover my ears in hopes of making it stop.
I can hear my heart pounding in my chest.
A knot is forming in my throat.
I start to gaps for air but nothing works.
All I can do is gasp and cry.
All they do is fight.
I remember a time when we were a family.
When my mom and dad loved each other.
When I didn't cry myself to sleep every night.

"Good Morning sweetie,"
I opened my eyes only to close them again trying to get my eyes to adjust to the sunlight.
"Morning daddy"
I balled my hands into fist and rubbed my eyes while letting out a soft yawn.
"So I know this might my a lot to take in right now but mommy and daddy aren't gonna be with each other anymore"
My eyes quickly snapped open and I completely woke up at the moment.
I thought that they could get through this.
I thought they could work it out.
I thought we could be a family again.
"Now this doesn't mean we both don't love you. Mommy and daddy love you very much,"
He continued to speak but I zoned out. Looking away from him I looked out my window. The birds were chirping and the sunlight was coming into my room.
I turned back to my pink-haired father who was still talking.
"I'll make sure to visit you everyday okay?" He said and I nodded. He kissed my forehead while patting my hair a tradition we had come up with. As he left the room I felt sad? Relieved? Upset? My emotions were everywhere and I couldn't stop the tears from going down my face.
I quickly got out of my bed and headed downstairs only to see suitcases nearby the door.
My mom was at the counter her head in her hands and I could hear sniffles coming from her.
My dad in the living room watching the television while eating. When he was done he washed the bowl and started to grab his suitcases.
"Wait!"
My dad turned back to look at me and my mother lifted her head up.
"Work things out! I know you can do it! You must still love each other right?"
My dad sighed and my mom started to cry more.
"Please! You have to stay!"
My dad shook his head his hair moving with him.
And just like that I lost my father.
I knew my mother couldn't take it. I knew I had to be strong for her. I knew that deep down she still loved my father and he still loved her.
***
As the years went on my mother and I slowly adapted to our new lives without my father. It was hard at first but we slowly got used to it.
I later learned that my father was a liar. Ever since he left he never visited me. I also learned her cheated on my mom numerous occasions.
***
As my sixteenth birthday came I decided that after six years of not speaking to my father, I needed to see him.
To see how he was doing. I knew my mother knew where he was but, she refused to tell me. So I took matters into my own hands and went snooping around her room.
After searching for a while I finally found it and kissed my mother on her cheek. She smiled at me and went back to sleep, her (h/c) hair covering her eyes.
I quickly jumped in my car and drove to the address. I noticed that I had gotten into the rich neighborhood.
I pulled up to the curb of house and stepped out of my car. I took a deep breath in and looked at my hands which were shaking.
I was about to see my father.
I nervously walked up to the door and knocked on it. A beautiful woman opened the door with a kind smile on her face.
"Hi honey what can I help you with?" She asked me and I gulped. My hands were staring to get sweaty so I wiped them down on my pants.
I gulped down my own salvia and just as I was about to speak two children around the age of six came up to her. They had pink hair and looked almost exactly like my dad.
"Honey who is it?" I heard a deep voice ask. I still memorize that voice. It belongs to my father. My breathing rate picked up and I felt tears well up in my eyes.
"Sorry I have the wrong house" I mumbled and then ran back to my car, tears already falling down. I tilted my head back and let out a cry of agony.
I looked through the window to see them all in the living room, cuddling up like a family. Something I would never have.
