Heaven: Third person POV

Persephone woke up to the melody of wind chimes swaying softly in the wind, her celestial blue eyes flickering open to see the radiant sun glimmering onto her face. Sighing softly to herself, she rose out of her bed and glided elegantly over to the mirror in her room, she checked her appearance briefly before making her way out of her room. On her way out she was stopped by a slender figure dressed in all white, she hung her head, expecting the worst. It was uriel, her father, and she knew exactly what he was going to say before the words made their way out of his mouth. She needed to be more angelic.

Persephone was an angel. A purebred, which meant that she had never been human and was born an angel, her parents were the angels uriel and charmeine and had quite a high status. To make matters better (or worse in Persephone's opinion) her Grandad was the legendary angel Gabriel- God's messenger. There was just one problem, Persephone longed to be human although she knew it was wrong. The thought of being free and living ultimately under your own wishes thrilled her and had led to her not taking interest in her angelic duties (not that she had much to do anyway). She had been warned many times about where her sinful thoughts would lead her (to hell, like lucifer) and she had tried to reform but alas, she couldn't help her desire to be free and she was sure God was running out of patience. She wandered out of her head and back into reality as she looked up and faced her father.

"Good morning, father. How are your duties going? Would you like some help?"
She offered, hoping he would notice her politeness and refrain from scolding her. No such luck.

"Persephone, Gabriel would like to speak to you about your behaviour as a heavenly being and I am most certain that he will not be singing your praises today."
Uriel stated, without sugarcoating his words.

Persephone flinched when she heard her father's words. She knew that this would be the day she would be exiled from heaven, like lucifer was all those years ago.

Seeing his daughter visibly pale, Uriel decided to give her a few words of comfort.

"Look, dear. I'm very sure that Gabriel won't banish you yet, he's bound to give you another chance to prove yourself. Just try your absolute hardest to complete whatever task he sets you and I'm sure you'll be forgiven."

Hearing her father's words of comfort brought warmth to her heart, yet a part of her 'angelic' mind was still rebelling against everything. She almost found herself saying that maybe hell wouldn't be too bad. Almost.

"Thank you, Father for encouraging me even though I don't deserve it." She began, "I will try my best to pass whatever test Gabriel sets me." She said, finding herself promising to her father.

"I bless you with determination in completing Gabriel's task." Uriel whispered, quickly pecking her forehead, before unfolding his wings and rising into the bright sky above.

Persephone watched in admiration as her father flew away. The only thing that she found enjoyable about being an angel was definitely the wings.

Every purebred angel was born with white wings and so was she, until a particularly sinful thought had led her to having them removed from her back. It was painful and humiliating, something she thought would never ever happen to an angel, But it had happened, to her, and she still had the scars to prove it. She remembers what it was like after they were taken from her, she spent hours crying, and weeks gazing at the raw and ragged flesh on her back, where her wings used to be. She could still feel the jagged knife piercing her tender skin and carving her wings out of her. It was harrowing and after the incident she had never been the same, she was a broken angel now, and she had no idea why God still kept her in heaven, but she was in no position to even think about questioning him. Sighing wistfully, she made her way to Gabriel, on foot.
