"I'm home from school" I yelled as slammed the door shut.
"Welcome home, sweetie. But why did you arrive so late today?" My mom asked while be being occupied making dinner.
"I had band practice today, remember?" I said
"Oh yes. Haha silly me. Anywho, you won't believe what I picked up for you today" she added.
"Huh? Let me guess, Sonic Mania for the pc? Yeah right." I said sarcastically.
"How'd you know?!" Mom said as she pulled the game out of a bag. My expression changed instantly into that of a surprised one.
"WhAT? Oh my gosh!" I said as I grabbed the game away from my mom and brought it close to my face.
"Thank you so much mom!" I said ecstatically.
"Yeah yeah. You're lucky, it was the last one on the shelf." Mom said while she continued with dinner.
"I can't thank you enough! I'm so excited to start playing-
"Not so fast. Homework first, then Sonic" Mom said strictly. My frowned turned upsidedown. "Fine." I said and marched to my room and threw my backpack on my bed. I set the videogame on my desk. I pulled out my binder and pulled out my essay that I have been putting off for about 3 weeks.
"Man I really need to finish this" I thought to myself. I sat, unsure of what to write on the paper next. My gaze averts to the game on the desk, distracting me even more.
"I'll just take a look at it"
I slowly set down my homework and pick up the game. Its wrapped in a thin plastic, so I quietly remove it. I slowly open the case, when something falls out and hits the ground. I look down, to reveal a small red diamond.
"huh? I guess the game includes a replica of a chaos emerald. Sick" I say as I examine it. I set it on my bed and continue to admire the game, reading the features and what not. I paused and looked around for a second, locked the door, and propped onto my computer chair while inserting the cd into my tower.
My eyes searched the screen for the 'install' notification and I instantly clicked it. "C'mon c'mon" I said under my breath. A small notification sound was heard and the game had been fully installed into my computer.
"Time to play the heck out of this game."
