I was angry, i wanted to fight back, but i couldn't, the council wouldn't want that, i needed to bring her back to the school, no matter what the cost.
"CRYSTAL!! WHERE ARE YOU!!" i yelled, and it didn't take long for her to show up, she had a beautiful white coat with glowing blue strikes, but now was not the time to admire her beauty.
i looked into my wolf, starfire's eyes, and he turned his head to Crystal, animal guides could only understand other animals or there guide, i never was able to communicate with her directly, but they gave her to me as if she was another one of my guides. We sped up, and slowly but surely, i carried the unconcious rebel girl onto the white wolf's back and whispered something into Starfire to tell Crystal
"get her out of here, we'll make a distraction!", Starfire smirked, turned his head once again, and Crystal went full speed, leaving me and my animal guide, Starfire, to face them ourselves
I turned around and waited until finally, they shown up, angry as ever, on the most hideous types of animals, the balrog, an ugly mutation of the Pega-Wolf. Pega-wolves are baisically wolves with wings, self explanatory, but these, were mutated long ago, and the results were disatrous.
"Where's our dinner huh? were getting particularly hungry" He grinned, and the witch next to him swooped down and tried lunge at me.
I swiveled to the side and brought out my bow, my crystal-embedded bow with the sharpest type of metal arrow money could buy. It was times like these i loved being rich, but other than that i hated it, kids would stay away from me because of it, probably thats why Rose never noticed me until now. I aimed at one of the legs, it was an easy shot, i learned when i was kid.
"Nooo!" The witch had yelled as the balrog she rode started propelling downward, pega-wolves couldn't fly properly if one was hit in the right spot, and the center of one wing would stop tem completely, balrog, or pega-wolf, Starfire and Crystal taught me this.
"One done, one more to go" i mumbled to Starfire.
He looked at me until he finally spoke, when you speak to your animal guide, all you hear is howling, or whatever the hell the animal makes, and then you hear a voice in your head, his, or her voice
"Dude, i suggest we lead him down the canyons and finally hitting him with everything we got", his voice was similiar to mine but a little deeper, and older
I nodded, turned him around, and swooped down near the ragged rocks, as expected he started following me. Starfire looked at me and in an instant i knew what he was thinking, he wanted to go deeper. I smiled and nodded, and sooner or later we sped up and gone deeper, Starfire was a master at dodging obstacles, so this was a walk in the park for him. When we finally passed the canyon formations, it was clear, no trees, just the calm grassy fields and flowers.
"you think we lost him?" Starfire's voice echoed in my head, we had lost them but who knows for sure.
"Maybe, don't want to stick around to find out!" i say jokingly, Starfire nodded and sped up, but before we could get any faster, something hit me back on the floor, it was the other witch, who had looked pretty beat up from the canyons.
"Your gonna pay William, pay really good!" he said as he jumped off of his pet
"Never call me that again!" i yell, at this point, i had brought out my sword, i was a master bowman, and swordsman.
"Really now, why did you take her from us?"
"She isn't your kid, they belonged to the king and the queen of the water realm! you took her away from them!" fire started emerging from the sword, and i can tell by the witches eyes he was terrified.
Starfire looked at me and winked, we both knew what to do, he jumped over me and my opponet to distract the balrog, so there wouldn't be any interference when i fought the witch. Although he was terrified, he still charged, forming a spear out of the dark matter and threw it. I rolled to the side and charged back, sword in one hand, while the other had a fireball ready to fire. He stood his ground, and didn't expect me to front flip over him, when i landed behind him, i shot the fireball into his back and finally decapitated him. The figure disappeared, assuming he was dead, i looked over at Starfire, he had just taken out the hideous wolf's wing. I smiled, brought out my bow, and aimed at the things head, bullseye! i had hit straight between the eye sockets, and the balrog just fell over lifeless.
"Hey that was mine!" Starfire yelled, we both had a knack for stealing eachothers fight.
"You didn't get to him fast enough" i say winking, while jumping onto his back.
He grumbled something playfully and we flew off again, at a slow pace, no one was chasing us so what was the point. It was awhile before my iphone started to ring, it was my mom back at the school, she had texted me saying "Rose and Crystal just landed, but Rose seems really ticked off", i laughed a little and texted her back saying, "try to contain her, i'm almost there" before putting it back in my pocket. The School for Animal guides was a special school, it was a really hard school to enter, considering that you need an animal guide, which, is only given to you by the council, when they choose you. Even if you have one you had to prove yourself worthy of being educated. Took me and Starfire three years, to pass every single trial, it was hard but we made it.
"Hopefully they accept Rose after everything we did to save her" Starfire said aloud.
"I'm sure they would, i mean, they let us in as kids, and she was kidnapped, but those witches probably erased those memories" i said, a sense of sadness in my voice.
"Your still holding a grudge about that, why? that was years and years ago"
"Starfire, you didn't understand, you never did, i... i was in love with her when i was a kid.."
