Macey's P.O.V
I walked down the corridor. People staring, as usual.
I see Chaz and run up to him and jump on his back "Chaz!"
He practically jumps out of his skin "Macey! Please don't do that again."
"Okay, sorry." I say back to him, "how was your holiday in Spain anyway?" Chaz is lucky, he's an only child and gets what he wants when he wants.
It's the complete opposite for me with my brothers and all that.
"Yeah." He replies "it was amazing!"
We start walking to class, when I see Ronnie and Tyler and duck behind Chaz but they see me and run up towards me. But as I do Chaz runs up to them and gives them a right old punch. Ronnie gets punched in the jaw and Chaz punched Tyler in the throat and walked up to me as the two boys stumbled backwards in confusion of what just happened "I'm sure they won't be much of a bother any more M."
I looked at him shocked like wtf did he just do???!
"Macey," he was saying my name and I snapped out of it. "Yeah, sorry. I'm just amazed at what just happened."
"Any way. How are you at home and everything?" He asked me. "I'm ok I guess, it was just getting a bit much some of the time though but I'm on an up at the moment."
"Okay. Sounds like I had a slightly better time than you though." He admits to me not really caring about what I just said. Normally he listens.
"Hey, Chaz? Random question..." I have been meaning to ask him this since we became friends.
"Yeah," he replies in a sweet and innocent voice.
"Why do you hang around with me?"
"Because..." he looks at the ground, " because I know a boy who is exactly like you."
"What do you mean you know a boy like me?" I ask surprised "You are one of the popular kids who could get a girl whenever you want and you could be with your mates arm wrestling or whatever but you still hang around with me." That sounded better in my head. I say as the bell rings for 1st period. "I'll talk to you at break," I finish my sentence. I wonder why he was wearing a jumper and trousers at the end of the summer when it's like 24 degrees outside, and probably much warmer in the school building. I just shrug it off and walk through the classroom door.
