Kurt teleported away as chunks of metal flew towards him and embedded themselves in the wall. He glared at Scott, who closed his visor and bowed his head apologetically.
"Sorry!" He yelled as the shattered remains of a training droid smouldered in front of him. "I'm still working on my control!" Kurt rolled his eyes and appeared next to Scott.
"It is fine," he shrugged. "Just as long as I don't die!" Scott laughed.
"No promises." They grinned at each other, turning to analyse the robot. "Y'know, this thing would be far cooler if it had chainsaw hands." Their childish giggling was cut off as heard a frustrated yell.
"What the hell are you two doing?!" Jean gestured to the ongoing carnage behind her. "There are more droids to fight!" The boys glanced at her sheepishly before returning to the fight.
Ororo was floating ten feet from the floor, conjuring a mist to confuse the droids' sensors while Jean ripped them apart. Kurt flashed around the room, causing as much mayhem as he could, while Scott's laser eyes proved more than capable of burning through their assailants. The training room was soon littered with the remnants of the droids, smouldering piles that smelled like hot pennies and made Kurt sneeze. Scott whooped.
"Yeah, guys! We did it! High five!" he held his hand up, the others just staring at him, unimpressed. He sighed, dropping his hand dejectedly. "Peter would've high fived me," he muttered.
"Yeah, well, Peter's not here, is he?" Jean said as the doors opened and Raven, Erik, Hank and the Professor came in, analysing the wreckage. Hank had a clipboard and was muttering with Raven, comparing thoughts on their session. Scott turned to the Professor.
"Where is Peter?" He asked as Erik began clearing away the metal, making quick work of the job.
"He went home to see his sister, Wanda, graduate. They're twins, but Peter dropped out of high school while Wanda went onto further education," the Professor explained. Ororo looked confused.
"I thought you graduated from university..." the Professor nodded.
"Wanda is extremely bright, and skipped most of high school and college," he answered.
"Is she a mutant too?" Kurt asked.
"I'm not certain, but I'd assume so." Scott frowned.
"That means he should only have been gone for one day, two at the most, but he's been gone for three weeks!" He looked at the Professor. "Have you heard from him since he left?" The Professor shook his head, and Scott's frown deepened.
"Aw! Are you missing your bff?" Jean teased. "Or, rather, you're bf?"
"Shut up," Scott muttered. "It's weird he hasn't said anything..." The Professor sighed.
"I'll call his mother if you're really concerned," he decided. "Now, get changed, and go down to dinner!" The X-Men initiates turned and left. Hank approached him.
"Charles? What's wrong?" He inquired of the Professor. Xavier hummed.
"Scott's concerned- he hasn't heard from Peter since he left, and I thought I should see when he'd be back at school. He's already behind in some of his classes- we can't have him dropping back any further. I doubt his lack of communication is too worrying, though. He's always had a penchant for getting distracted and loosing track of time." Hank nodded.
"Good idea. I'll go get his mother's number so you can call him," the scientist offered. Charles smiled.
"Thank you. But first, I need to speak with you all," he sighed again. Raven and Erik looked up from the other side of the room and made their way over, the Professor having called them telepathically.
