The next morning my parents drove me to the school to say goodbye. I gave them hugs and carried my three boxes and two bags to the bus that had "Brookeside Boarding School" written across the side. The CIA sure went far to keep a cover. I hopped onto the bus and sank down into a plush seat. Sure enough I was the only one on the bus which my parent didn't know.
When we pulled up to the school i was breath taken. Ginormous gates flung open for the bus to enter. We went over a cobblestone bridge that stretched over a crystal colored river. I saw koi swimming around which I was informed are robotic guards. A thick lush forest spread out in front of us and the bus squeezed through a path that led into it. We went down several twists and turns through the woods. There was so many different ways to go that if someone was to get past the vicious koi they would be stalled by the maze of a forest. It finally unfolded into rolling hills that were covered in bright green grass. The campus was neatly organized and behind the buildings was more. We finally arrived at a large stone building that cast a shadow over the entire front yard. I got out of the bus and the driver instructed me to go inside. Once I got inside I dropped my luggage and searched for someone to help me. The lobby looked like a normal boarding school with fancy couches and pictures of students enjoying themselves on the walls.
"Hello?" I shouted. "Anybody here?" I kept walking around.
I suddenly was stopped during walking like I had bounced on a wall. I realized that the room ahead of me looked strangely 2D now that I was up close. I heard laughs erupt behind me. I spun around to see a guy that looked around my age laughing his head off. Once he calmed down he started talking.
"Are you new or something? Trying to walk through a holowall?"
"Actually I am new. And no one was here to welcome me or tell me where to go."
"Well first of all that's because spies should take initiative to help themselves. Also that was a lie and I was late." He said, and shook my hand.
"I'm Zach, your tour guide. Don't ask me why Mike chose me to show you around but for some reason he did." Zach shrugged and led me over to a device on the wall. It had a screen and keypad. Zach punched in a code and spoke to it, saying that he had a student to register.
I said my name and it gave me a code in which I promptly wrote on my arm.
"What are you doing?!" Zach asked, wiping the code off of my arm with a super wipe that he had found in the front desk drawer.
"We can't write or log down anything without confirmation from our supervisors. Some people would literally kill for that access code." He said. I memorized the code and punched it into the pad. The wall seemed to shift and I followed Zach as he walked through it, carrying my luggage.
"Take a seat ma'dam." Zach said, motioning to a chair. I took my boxes and remained standing.
We were in a new room which had obviously wasn't visible from before. The walls were mostly windows and every piece of furniture was either black, silver, white or clear. In the middle of the room a circular desk was placed with Jessica sitting at it.
"Jess!" Zach shouted and waved.
"Hi Zach, Hi Holly." She said. "Holly, Mr. D is waiting for you." She pointed to a door that was marked with a cleaning supplies sign on it.
"Trust me it's his office. That sign is just there for extra security." Zach said.
I walked over to the Headmaster's office and reached for the door handle. I'm ready.
