Chapter Four.

"Ah Emily, you've cleaned up?" Glancing over I saw the doctor, Lexa had walked in with her clipboard.
"And who's this?" She asked.
"Ben" I replied.
"Friend?"
"Boyfriend and my family"
"Hey" Ben said and smiled slightly as he was sat in the chair besides the bed.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Lexa, Emily's doctor and friend, it's good to see she has someone who treats her good"
"Still here.." I spoke and glanced to her.
"I always will." Ben had simply replied.
"But right now, what exactly is she facing?" He continued.
"Emily has already had her X-rays but it seems to be just swollen ribs with a lot of bruising, there's no broken bones at all, thankfully." Lexa finished and out her clipboard on the end of the bed.
"You've been here for hours and you've only just called me?" Ben questioned with little shock falling off his words.
"I've been a little busy love" I moved my arm to around my ribs.
"We've already had a discussion of this, you need to talk to me" he spoke.

"Ben, I've just been beaten half to death, I can just about move and talk without it hurting I-" I found myself being cut off by Lexa.
"Let's get you some pain killers and something to eat and drink alright? Then you can go home" I just nodded in reply, she had taken Ben with her to help decide what I would eat and drink but nothing could stop this.. this fear I constantly had growing inside of me, I felt like I was nothing.. that I meant nothing. I'd found myself growing to be more agreeing with what my parents describe me as.. there was nothing I could do to stop this. I have no belief in myself anymore.

"Stop thinking like that" I snapped back to reality and looked to the door, I didn't even hear Ben walk through.
"I don't know what you're talking about" I watched as he sat beside me.
"I know what you're thinking because I know you Emily, you are perfect just the way you are, I wouldn't want to change you for anything"
"Can we just go home now?" I asked and he nodded in reply.
