HEYY GUYSSSS!!!! I'm SO sorry for not updating for so long, I was quite caught up in my school work, but here's the next chapter, and those are your two new characters in the book: Aarav and Tara!!! So I though I would have two parallel stories in my book - how about that? Scroll down for the second story...
"Aarav! Buddy I'm over here!" came a deep masculine voice from the far left of the basketball court.
Recognizing it as Kishore's voice, I turned around excitedly. There I saw him, running towards me with a huge grin on his face.
"Sup bro, how was your weekend?" he asked with a wink, and that was enough for me to know something interesting had happened over those two days.
"Go on man, tell me what happened" I retorted with a slight chuckle, and he started his never ending narration of the last party that he had attended and the 'many stunning beauties' that he had gotten to know while at it.
"One of them even asked me out to lunch this week bro, how cool is that" he sounded so excited. I smiled at his childish glee, but deep down, I could not help but feel a tad bit jealous.
All my friends had a healthy social life. They would get invited to parties every other weekend, and make loads of new friends, and most importantly, all of them had an existing love life, and charm that worked on most girls they met. In other words, they were normal social human beings. Except for me. Sometimes, I just can't help but wonder how they even befriended me, I mean, I wasn't really someone who's fun enough to spend time with.
Just as I was going to continue my chain of insecure thoughts, I felt a tingling sensation, as though something was pulling me backward. Impulsively, I turned behind, and for a moment, my eyes met the most intense, beautiful, chocolate brown eyes. I felt the world stop for a moment, and my heart stop for a second. But almost immediately, I looked away, I couldn't hold the contact any longer. And when I looked again, I saw her, Tara Nair.
As she walked past, I noticed dozens of guys like me, admiring her from afar, knowing that they will never stand a chance. And the same applied to me. Tara was the dream girl for many, but we were all way out of her league. She was born into a rich family, and was so smart, pretty, independent, and classy. And I, on the other hand, was the quiet, introverted geek who had a few popular friends; I was pretty sure she wasn't even aware of my existence.
"Hey. Dude. Aarav. Aarav Karthik are you there? If you are, please exit your dream world and report to the human world immediately, I repeat, please report to the human world immediately. Thank you" I turned around with a slight frown on my face only to see Kishore gleefully smirking as though his life depended on it.
"I'm really very sorry to disturb you while you're involved in such an important job sir, but if we don't leave now, our supremely sweet manager would most likely chop us into pieces and have us for lunch. So if we don't mind, could we proceed now?", he chuckled and ran away as I chased after him, and after stealing one final glimpse of Tara for that morning, I got into the lift that would take me to the start of another routine Monday morning.
But I really needed to stop crushing on her already. She was an angel; too good for me.
