The sky was a nice shade of blue that morning. There weren't many clouds in the sky, either. The sunlight shone down on the sand, making the tiny grains even whiter than it already was. It made the sea dazzle as gentle waves lapped up on the sand.
And behind some tall trees, underneath their shady canopy, sat a tiny creature no bigger than your thumb: a hermit crab.
Two eyes like black shiny beads stared out at the shining sea. He stared out at the bleached sand. He stared up at the sky. The sun penetrated his eyes and he tumbled into a ball, temporarily blinded. He flipped over, by accident, landing on his back.
Right after, though, he was up and peeking out again to the sunny shore. Timidly he shuffled out of the shade, lugging his purple-tinted shell on his back. He scurried along, using a single rosy peach claw to shade himself from the sunlight.
A nice and cool breeze blew by. The hermit crab's black eyes brightened and he quickly scurried out to feel the wind. He faced the ocean, since that was where the wind was blowing from, and settled down in the sand. Cheerfully he closed his eyes and simply felt the breeze. How nice it was!
That is, until water drenched him to the bone. Abruptly he opened his eyes. His expression was obviously of annoyance as he shook his tiny body free of the seawater like a cat. He stared evilly at the sea, water still dripping from parts of his body and shell.
Perking up a little he swiveled around, as if he heard something. He narrowed his eyes curiously and bent forward, extending his eye stalks out to see further. The result? He fell flat on his face.
The hermit crab bounced right up again. He was oblivious to the grains of sand stuck on his head. Once again he peered forward, towards the tree line again. He caught sight of a wonderful brown fruit hanging on a tree. He brightened and grinned... if he could.
Coconuts!
The hermit crab practically flew across the sand and to the trees. If he could, he'd be humming a cheery tune called 'Coconut.' His tiny feet were nearly invisible due to the speed he was running at.
