You know the inspiration behind this story?
It's my sister's pet hermit crab. We went on vacation to a place called Bali (look it up. It's in Indonesia) and we'd gone down to the beach one day.
She picked up this tiny shell just before we were going home. She asked me to hold it, so I did.
Then it started pinching my hand. Surprised I looked down and whaddya know, there was a hermit crab XD
I have no idea how it managed to survive being stuck in a plastic bottle half filled with sand on the short plane trip back. But he did.
Yeah, we all assumed his gender XD. To us it's a li'l boy :3
We got him on September 2016. He was the cutest thing ever <3
But then...
This August, we found him out of his shell. He was all curled up and not moving.
We waited for the rest of the day, thinking he was just shedding his skin.
He still didn't move.
:'(
He passed on August 2017. He almost lived for a year with us.
It's a miracle, really, how he managed to survive in such a poor environment. We had no idea how to take care of a hermit crab. So we just filled a good-sized jar up with sand and put him in with a couple of shells to accompany. He actually did really well.
And I just want to say thank you to you all for reading this. And I want to thank Hermy for being with us for almost a year. Without him, this story may never have existed.
Thanks, y'all
