chapter 5

Catrinas pov

I woke up not wanting to open my eyes, I turn over opening one eye then the other. When everything become clear I notice that Jaden was gone. Typical guy sleeps with you then is gone before morning granted we only slept in the same tent but non the less he was gone.

I blink a couple times before sitting up. I walk out of the tent heading to the camp to find maggie.

"Hey how did you sleep" maggie asked giving me a wink as I walk up to her.

Giving her a look of confusion I answer "fine I guess"

"I see you had no problem getting straight to the mating part" she said with a glint in her eyes and amusement on her face.

Confused I looked at my self before mentally hitting my head when I realized I was still wearing his clothes. I blush my head tilting down so my hair covers my face.

"Its not like that he gave them to me to sleep in since I didn't exactly pack a bag before comeing here" I said avoiding looking her in the eyes.

"Sure it is" she said before letting it go.

We walked to the middle of the camp to get something to eat. I was starving and as if to agree with me my belly growled. I noticed Jaden was sitting by the fire with a bowl of soup watching a man who was cooking on the fire. Forgetting about my hunger I walked over to him and sat down going unnoticed. I sat there for a little long waiting for him to say something. I gave up and stood to walk away before he spoke.

"Why are you still wearing my clothes?"

"Um I forgot I was wearing them when I stepped out of the tent. Sorry I can go change if it bothers you that much?" I said hoping he would not care because I liked wearing his clothes, they made me feel safe and warm.

"Whatever I don't care" he said never looking at me once.

"Oh ok thanks" I said before walking away back to Maggie.

"What was that about?" She asked me when I got to her side.

"Uh nothing its fine" I said not wanting to talk about his rudeness.

Maggie looked at me with sad eyes knowing I was uneasy about how he acts toward me but she let it go anyway and continued getting food. I looked back at Jaden one more time before focusing on getting some food. I was going through the line next to Maggie piling my food up when a loud horn sound made me drop my plate. I looked at Maggie who had a worried look on her face. Everyone started running past me as I stood there. Maggie told me to go with her so I turned to fallow but everyone kept pushing me out of there way and I lost sight of Maggie as I fell on the ground. I was looking where everyone was disappearing and looked around to see the fire was out and hidden and the food line was hidden I looked back and front of me and seen a face I recognized. Jaden was helping me up as he yelled at me to run. I stood up and tried running but fell again screaming now noticing the pain in my ankle.

"I got you hold on to me" Jaden said as he picked me up bridal style carrying me in the same direction everyone was running. I heard someone yell something from behind me.

"Shit" Jaden muttered and turned behind a big bush, he set me down and kneed beside me looking at the direction the yelling came from. I turned as much as I could to see people in black armor running past our camp not stopping. When all the guys in black armor were out of sight everyone started coming out of there hiding spots. I tried to stand but as soon as I put pressure on my ankle i felt a sharp pain run up my leg, I started called but never hit the ground, I looked up to see Jaden had caught me and had me wrapped in his arms against his chest.

I pulled away and thanked him, as I tried hopping back but it was taking to long. Before i new what was happening Jaden was carrying me bridal style again back to the camp where everyone was getting all the food back out. I let him carry me not saying a word as he set me down on a log by the fire then he left. I wanted to know why he was just leaving me but then I thought about it not being his problem that I'm hurt so he does not need to take care of me. Then I noticed Maggie running toward me "Are you ok? What happened? I could not find you."

"Maggie I'm fine ok I fell and hurt my ankle I cant put any pressure on it but Jaden carried me to a bush to hide us then carried me here and left" I said filling her in on everything.

"He just left you here," she said getting a little mad, "I mean I'm glade he helped you but then he just left you here that's so rude. I get he has moods but this is..." she was interrupted as Jaden came back with a women with pointy ears and cat like yellow eyes, and a first aid kit.

"Hi I'm Kate I'm a doctor I'm going to look at your ankle now ok" the women said kneeling in front of me.

I looked up at Jaden to see he was just looking at my ankle not paying attention to me. I looked at Maggie to see her blushing in embarrassment. I laughed slightly before I hiss from the pain in my ankle as the doctor touched it.

"Sorry about that ok you have a fractured ankle we dont have a cast for it but we are going to wrap your ankle up really good and you can put any weight on it for 4 weeks. I will check up on you twice a week to make sure it is improving ok?" The doctor said looking at me as she is getting ready to wrap my ankle.

After the doctor was done I looked at Maggie "why does she have pointy ears and those eyes" I ask her.

"Witchs can change ther appears whenever they feel like it", she said, also I know today has been a lot already but it has been 24 hours since we left my mom after we eat we need to pack to go to my grandmas. She is going to train us to be better witch's"

"But I cant walk the doctor said not for 4 weeks and she will need to check on me twice a week" I reminded her

"Ok well then she will need to come with us and we will need aomeone that can carry you most of the way there" she says smiling and looking at Jaden.

I look up at him from where I'm sitting and he looks at maggie with no surprise on his face. "Will you go with us jaden?" Maggie asked him like it was no problem.

"Fine whatever" he says like he has no choice.

"You dont have to go if you dont want to you know" I say to him

"Um yes he does we dont have anyone else and he already said he would go with us. So how abour you Kate are you coming we could really use you" maggie says.

"Ya it would be nice to leave for awhile" kate says

"Great so lets all go get what we need to for our trip it will take us about three days so let go. Oh and catrina you might want to help jaden pack his clothes since you will be wearing them too." Maggie says winking at me

I roll my eyes and me and jaden head twards out tent as maggie goes to the food and Kate goes to the medical stuff.
