Ellie's POV:
I was just looking at my phone when a notification came up. There was a talent contest not so far away! Mimi's at my house right now. I have to tell her.
Mimi's POV:
Ellie came bursting out of the kitchen doors into the garden where I was peacefully sunbathing. She was clutching her phone.
"Mimi! You won't believe what I just found out!" Ellie shouted excitedly.
"What? What is it?" I asked.Ellie explained all about a talent show only a 5-minute walk from where they were. We could win!
"Oh my gosh! That is so cool! Come on!" I exclaimed, pulling Ellie into the living room and onto the sofas.
"What should we do?" Ellie asked.
"We better put our thinking caps on," I informed.
We both got out our caps from behind us. I put mine on normally and Ellie put on hers backwards for a laugh. After a moment's silence, I suggested, "We could sing!"
"I'm not really much of a singer," Ellie said, nervously. "How about gymnastics?"
"I'm not really much of a gymnast."
"We're never going to think of something," Ellie sighed.
"I know ..." I said, a suggestion coming to my mind.
In unison, we both shouted, "Dancing!"Ellie's POV:
We sorted out our music and the actual dance. We just had to practise, which was extremely exhausting. We kept getting the moves wrong and Mimi had to stop me from falling over! That still embarrasses me.
"We need a break," I told Mimi, panting, as we made our way over to the blue sunbeds.
"Yep. Five minutes will do," Mimi agreed, lying on the sunbed and closed her eyes.
I did the same.Mimi's POV:
It was weird. I felt myself moving but at the back of my mind I knew that I was still lay on the sun bed.
Me and Ellie both woke up and stretched. I checked my watch for the time and I gasped.
"Ellie, the talent contest is starting right now!" I told her.
"We have to go!" Ellie ordered.
We both ran the whole way there.Ellie's POV:
We got there just in time.
"Next up is Ellie and Mimi performing an original dance," the host introduced.
We both walked onto the stage nervously. We introduced ourselves again and the music was turned on. We tried to do the dance.
Yep. We did as good as our practises, and we were booed off the stage. We walked home with our heads hung in shame and embarrassed.
Mimi's POV:
I opened my eyes. So did Ellie. We both sat up and looked at each other.
"Oh my gosh, Ellie! I had the most horrible nightmare," I gabbled.
"Me too!" Ellie agreed.
"We better get practising," I suggested, and we both got out of our sunbeds to the practising place.Ellie's POV:
It took a few hours but we did it. We perfected the dance. At least, I hope we did.
We both set off and got there with plenty of time left. We had some food and drink and the host's voice rang out.
"Next up is Ellie and Mimi performing an original dance."
We both walked on the stage normally. I hope. There were so many people. We introduced ourselves and the music was put on for real.
We started our dance ... and we did it perfectly!
Everyone cheered and cheered and cheered! I was so happy that I made Mimi and I hold hands and bow.
Mimi's POV:
At the end of the talent show, everyone was ushered onto the stage for the winner. Ellie and I stood there at the front with our fingers crossed, wishing and hoping and wishing and hoping -
"The winner - or should I say - winners of today's talent contest is ... Ellie and Mimi!"
We both stood there in shock. We had won!
