Prologue

It's crazy how one night could change everything.

How one girl can be the future.

Sometimes there's a different track ahead, and we don't get to pick the role that we want to play in life.

That's just how It goes. Sometimes people are stuck with one choice and you have to deal with It.

That's the game of life, you play and you never pass.

"Honey, are you sure you'll be okay?" Mom furrows her brows," I mean, we can get you after the concert or have Jake wait for you outside till It's over."

"Mom, I'll be fine. Please leave this day to me. I'm 18 I can handle myself," I say reassuring her.

Mom got real problems, she's diagnosed with severe anxiety which is why she's acting like that.

"Leave this day to her. She'll be fine. If she dies I'll kill her twice," Dad jokes, and I chuckle.

"Fine but give us a call ok? Don't forget to give us a call when the concert's over." Mom says before she turns her back crossing her arms, throwing a tantrum.

"I will. Bye guys!" I say shaking my head before walking out of the car. I wave one last time and watch as the van leaves.

This is It.

I have to get my album and shirt signed. Then I have to give this fan art. It took me a few months to finish this. I also need to get a picture of him and leave, these are the things that I listed on my bucket list. Hoping I do them all to day.

It's now or never. Put you're game face on Zendaya.

I walk inside and show my ticket they gave me a backstage ID, they checked my bag first before letting me in.

The night is still young and everything's pretty dim, I have a long way to go. But I do think I came here a bit late 'cause the arena's already full.

Someone guides me to my seat, and I patiently wait for this thing to get started.

"Nervous?" The girl on my right says.

"Yeah. A bit," I say pressing my lips.

"Are you alone too?" She asks again.

"I am," I retorted clasping my hands.

'Life living in a shell.' I mutter to myself. The girl on my right mutters something but I didn't hear It. So I asked her again.

"Oh, I said do you want to be my backstage buddy?" She says giving me a warm smile.

"Sure," I returned plastering a smile, hoping I don't screw up.

"Where are you from?" She asks. "What's you're ethnicity?"

"Oh, I'm half black but I was born here so that makes me pure pinay?" I say sheepishly giving her a half-hearted smile.
