Finally, the exceedingly long travel to Spoonerville, Ohio was almost over. Y/N and her family got through it, all the way from Glanchester, Kansas.
Y/N's eyes were closed; She was asleep, and so was Finn, though he was snoring like crazy. If she were aware of this, she'd be surprised she even slept through all that loud sound.
Her chin rested on her palm as her elbow remained on the rest part of the door handle, and her lips were parted slightly as she breathed in and out slowly while she slept. It was about 8:30 in the morning, and it's been a few hours since they left the hotel at 4:00.
Inhaling deeply, she was just about to start dreaming when her father hit a bump in the road. She jumped up with the car, nearly hitting her head on the ceiling. Y/N's eyes snapped open immediately once that happened, and she sighed quietly to herself as she rubbed her eyes. Humming out loud, she took both arms and reached out, also taking her legs to stretch as far as she could in her seat. She slumped down a little bit as she did so.
"Mm... What- What time is it?" She asked her parents upfront, to which her mother responded, "About 8:30! We just got here in Ohio an hour ago. I was tempted to wake you, but I'd feel bad if I did." She chuckled lightly, "We have about another couple hours before we get to Spoonerville, so we're stopping for breakfast at a diner nearby."
"Sounds good to me," Y/N agreed, a bit of exhaustion present in her voice. Blinking a couple times, she brought herself to look outside the window off to her right, and the sight seemed so bland compared to what it was before she left her country home in Kansas. There were tons of cars now, and buildings, and large structures. The sky looked grayer than she remembered.
All she could really look forward to now, was breakfast.

About thirty minutes after the short conversation Y/N and her mom had earlier, they arrived at a nice-looking diner in some town nearby. The entire building emitted this aroma of pleasant breakfast foods, so pleasant it'd make anyone's stomach grumble in an instant. Finn licked his lips as he crudely inhaled the lovely smell.
"Aw, man, I'm gonna eat up this entire building if I don't eat soon!" The corners of the ten year old's lips were seeping with slobber as they were led to an empty table.
"Wipe up your mouth, Finn, you're getting drool everywhere," his father teased, seating himself as he gripped the menu which was neatly placed on the recently cleaned table.
Finn surprisingly complied, taking the sleeves of his shirt to wipe off his saliva instead of a napkin.
"So, Y/N, do you have any idea what you wanna do after you graduate high school?" Her father spoke up, which she replied a choking sound as she drank her water. "What— ahem... Why are you only asking me this now?" She set the cup down on the table as she wiped up the excess water off the corners of her mouth with her sleeve. Her breathing seemed to be a little quicker.
"Well, I guess I should've asked a bit earlier," he chuckled, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "Still, it's an important thing, Y/N... Do you know what you wanna do with your life?"
"..."
The truth was, she never really thought about it. She was so caught up in farm life back at home, she thought she'd just grow up to be a farmer like her grandfather. Though after the sudden news they were moving, that seemed to be out of the question now. Clearing her throat, she then gulped, "... I dunno."
"You 'dunno?'" Her mother chimed in, questioning her reply, to which Y/N just nodded.
"You pulled us all away from home all of the sudden and you expect me to have an answer to that?" She scoffed a little, a sarcastic smile plastered to her face.
