Chapter 2: It’s working!!!

After we shopped for food. We ate our lunch and plan where to steal later midnight...

{Midnight: day 2}

“Raquel, let’s go!” Kei whispered. “Okay, wait for me!” I answered. I’m nervous even if this is my second day of stealing...

We’re about to steal 10 families this evening, (3:00am) We already stole things from 7 families after 3 hours. “Kei,” I called him. “What? Are you tired?” he asked. “No, I just want to....” I saw a light coming from the other house and I think they saw us, the dogs are barking and someone yelled. “Thieves! Thieves!”

“We’ve got to go,” Kei said.

The guards saw us and chasing us. Now we’re in panic! We ran as fast as we can. We hide behind a wall. “Here,” Kei said, he handed me a white dress. “Change your outfit for a while so that they won’t recognize you.” He added. I change my clothes as fast as I can. Kei also changed his clothes too. He wears a cap and a Brooklyn shirt and a backpack. We simply walk when someone touches my shoulder.

“Hey!” the guard said. I feel nervous but I tried to be relaxed. “Did you see two kids maybe teenagers that aged about seventeen?” they asked. “Ah...Uh... Err.... No sir,” I answered. “Don’t worry sir, we’ll tell you if we found them,” Kei said. “Thanks,” they said and we walk away... I sighed...       “Wait!” the guard said. He looked at me so deeply as if he knows me. “Umm... What are you two doing here at this time? You should be sleeping by now,” the guard said. “We just want to get some fresh air and to be alone for a while, you know some family problems,” Kei answered. “Well you two should be going home right now,” he said. “Yeah, okay,” Kei said.

“Okay, that was close,” I said in a panic. “Don’t worry, I’m good at lying,” said Kei confidently. “How can you be so confident?!” I asked him. “Look, like I said. I’m good at it,” he answered.

We went to our hut and comfortably sleep. I woke up so badly. The people are protesting in the city hall.

They’re throwing eggs, tomatoes and anything to the city hall.

“Mr. Steve Johnson! Where are you? Come and show up! We want to speak to you personally about the things that were stolen from us! I live here in Dalnoveia in many years but this time is my first time I’m stolen! Come out there! You have to do an action!” one of the complainant yelled.

This is good...  :D I called Kei. He’s still sleeping. “Kei, Kei look,” I said. “What?” he answered in a sleepy voice. “You need to check this out,” I said to him with a smile.
