Chapter 3: Chasing...

Will Steve catch the thieves or will she find Raquel instead?    ^_^

Kei and I smiled when we saw that people are protesting in the city hall. We can see them in the cliff but Kei wants a closer look so we went to the city hall. I wear a cap so that Steve won’t recognize me.

After a while, Steve went out of the city hall and said, “People of Dalnoveia, please calm down. We’re looking for an evidence to know who the thieves in this place are. The guards said that they’re age is about 16-17. That means they’re teens.”

Kei is busy watching the birds in the sky...   ^^        ^^       ^ ^       ^^

“So Mr. Mayor, how can we be sure of that?” a reporter asked. “We’ll gather all the teenagers, boys or girls later. Inside the village and some teens who lived near our city and do some test to them. Are we clear?” said Steve. “Yes mayor,” they all answered. And they all walked to their home.

Someone accidentally bang my head and my cap fell off to the ground. “Kei!” I called him. Steve surely recognizes my voice. He looked at me deeply. His eyes widened. “Get that girl!” he shouted and pointed at me and now the guards are after me. “Raquel!” Kei called my name. I saw him in a street and ran to him. “Kei, they saw me and now they’re after me.” I said. “We’ve got to go,” Kei replied. 

Someone grabbed our hand and take us to an underground hiding place. “What the?” Kei said. It’s dark inside and I can’t see anything, “Kei?” I called him. “I’m here, don’t worry I got your hand,” He said. I sighed. “You two almost caught by the guards, thanks to me I saved the two of you,” a familiar voice said. “Who are you?” I asked. “Oh, my manners. I forgot to open the lights,” the voice said. And we can see everything now.The place is large. There’s a bed, a television, laptop, stove and everything you need in a house.

 “Hi Raquel,” the voice said. I was surprised!

“Fionna!” I said and hugged her tightly. “You guys alright?” she asked. “Yes,” we answered. “Uh Raquel, you want to introduce your friend?” Fionna asked. “Oh sure, Uhm... This is Kei, my friend. He’s the one who help me out when you leave me in the house.” I explained. “Oh hi Kei, pleasure to meet you. Thanks for taking care to my sister.” She said. “Oh, you’re the one who helped Raquel from Steve,” Kei said. “Yes to our father,” Fionna said.

“Wait; did you just said to ‘our father’?” I asked. “Yes, our father,” she said and hold my hands. “He changed a long time ago, he then realized that he was wrong but when he came back to the house, you’re gone.” Fionna said. I was speechless on that time. “No,” I said. “No! You’re wrong Fionna,” I took off my hands to her. “An old man saw me in the house, then he free me and let me stay in his house. But one day, I saw him talking to Steve on the phone and planning to give me to Steve.” I explained.

“Yes, she’s right. She ran away from the house and I saw her sleeping in the street and that’s what happened and when we heard that Steve is here, we came here to take our revenge,” Kei added. “But... how...I...I...I cannot believe it,” Fionna said. “I thought he told me everything, are you really sure what you’re saying?” Fionna asked. “Yes,” Kei and I answered. Fionna walked around the place while holding her forehead like confused.

Then she suddenly sat down. “How come are you two here?” she asked. “You saw that cliff over there?” I asked to her and point out the cliff on the window. Fionna nodded. “We’ve been there for almost a month, trying to spy on Steve.” Kei said. “Whoa, wait... Are you two the city thieves?” Fionna asked. “Yes, yes we are.” I replied.  “Huh..You two are in big trouble,” Fionna said. “Yeah and we need your help.” I said.

“Okay, so 8pm sharp I’ll knock to your house on the cliff right? Then I’ll help you two steal,” Fionna said. “Good point but are you sure you wanna go with us? I mean you’re a daughter of the mayor and someone might get us because of you, I mean you’re the witness.” Kei said. “It’ll not happen I promise. If that happens, I’ll prove to them that I’m the real thief.” Fionna answered.

Then the place became quiet...

“8pm sharp,” I said. Then they nodded. “Well you should eat lunch with me right now,” Fionna said. Then Kei and I nodded. “So what’s for lunch?” I asked. Fionna opened the refrigerator. “Let’s see um...Meat, chicken...” Fionna said. “Chicken?” I interrupted. “Yes, chicken,” Fionna said. “Kei,” I said and I looked at him.

“What?” he said. “Okay,” he added. “Give me the chicken Fionna, I’ll roast it,” Kei said.

{8PM}

(Knock, knock...)

“I think that’s Fionna,” I said to Kei. I opened the door for her. “Fionna,” I said and hugged her. “Thank goodness you made it,” Kei added. “So let’s start, shall we?” I said. “Can I rest for a while? It’s hard to escape from father,”Fionna complained. “Okay, 10 minutes.” I said.

After we rest, we begin to steal; well we’re faster than before. We’ll meet up in the underground hiding place. I’m the first one who went to the UHP (underground hiding place). Well I stole 4 valuable things from 4 families. Suddenly they both came... “Hi Raquel, wow you’re doing great,” Fionna praised. “Thanks you too,” I said and looked at her bag. “Wow, I consider that as a beginner’s luck,” I added and we chuckled.

We spend the rest of our nights in the hiding place until morning...

 I’d like to watch the protesting people outside but I can’t...

Surely the guards will chase me. So I decided that Kei and Fionna will check ouside. I wait them but I’m bored. I watched television, eat, and sleep...

Thirty minutes later, at last they came. “So, what happened?” I asked gladly. “Nah, that old Steve just  gave words. We wait until he said the investigations about the thieves but nothing came out of his mouth.” Kei said. “I think he’s just afraid to tell about it.” I said. Then I change the topic. “Hey Fionna, are you really sure you wanna do this? I mean he’s your father after all,” I asked her. “It’s not important if he’s my father, the important thing is I’m doing the right thing,” she replied.

Other nights past and they're doing even better...

Raquel can feel that Steve's going down.

Kei and I are in the bed then I asked, "Kei, what if I stole from Steve's house?" "You don't want to do that, I mean they might catch you. I'm just worried," Kei answered. "I'm just curious," I said. "I know but don't ever do that, you know your situation," Kei said.

Kei is right but...

WHAT IF???

STEVE's pROv

I don't know what's going on, I'm a good ruler and everbody knows that but when the thieves and Raquel showed up. BOOM. I'm already messed up...

Wait... I saw a shadow of a girl. I pick up a piece up of wood incase that's the thief. I follow her to the kitchen and I opened the lights. "What do you want?" I asked. I saw the face...

"It's me father," the voice said. Oh it's only Fionna. "Uh.. I thought you're the thief," I said.

I'll just got o bed now, another bad day...
