Age: 12
Timing: Season One
Place: Whale Island

Killua had been nervous when they had arrived at Whale Island, Gon's home. He couldn't help but think of his own family as he went to meet Gon's. He was sure that someone as beautiful and cheerful as Gon had a great family...
"C'mon Killua!" Gon yelled, pulling the other boy along in his excitement. Killua hurried along so he didn't trip.
Gon's laughter was infectious, and Killua couldn't help but laugh and smile along with him. He wasn't even sure what he was so nervous about; until they finally got to Gon's house.
He saw someone standing outside hanging laundry, and on instinct he tried to make himself smaller. Killua had never been allowed to have friends, and he now wondered if Gon had been raised the same, in that aspect. He had never mentioned any friends to Killua before.
Gon ran up to the person and gave her a hug, talking excitedly. He turned back to Killua and waved his hand, signaling the other boy over.
Killua ran over, although he really wanted to drag his feet to stall. Gon introduced him to Aunt Mito...

And she immediately invited them in. She asked about the Hunter Exam and if they were hungry and if they had been sleeping well and- well, she asked them a lot. After they ate and answered a few of Aunt Mito's questions, they were told to take a bath. After all, they had just gotten back from quite an adventure and didn't smell too pleasant.

Gon and Killua took a bath together, playing with the bubbles and helping each other wash their hair. Killua almost felt like he was a normal kid; Gon made him feel like a normal kid.
When they got out of the bath, they drained the water and dried off with big fluffy towels. Gon smiled at Killua. "We probably have to go to sleep after this. This will be my first sleepover!"
"Mine too." Killua said, putting on his night-shirt. He hadn't thought of it like that.
They left the bathroom and went to Gon's room, then made sleeping arrangements. Gon went to turn the light off, and when the room was finally dark, they pretended to sleep. Both of them were too excited for the next day.

They hadn't stayed on Whale Island for very long. After they had discovered enough evidence to find Gon's dad they left.
Killua and Gon stood at the back of the ship, waving goodbye to everyone. When they were out of sight, Killua turned to bother boy.
"Hey Gon." He said quietly.
Gon turned to him, then his eyes widened as their lips met. The kiss was brief and innocent, full of inexperience and hesitation.
Killua pulled away and lowered his head. "Th-thanks for letting me come along. And for letting me see your family and the place you grew up."
Gon was silent for a moment and Killua looked up at him with worry filled eyes. He relaxed as Gon smiled.
"You don't have to thank me." Gon hugged Killua tightly. "Why wouldn't I bring you? I like you a lot Killua, and now my family is yours too."
Killua blushed at Gon's sentimental words, not really used to requited affection. Gon grabbed his hand and smiled widely. "I'm with you all the way Killua. TO YORK NEW CITY!"
