The Terrabitian's Legend

*First chapter*

Before Terrabitia, The Girl, The Owl and The Rope

As every town, city, region or country has its myths and legends, Terrabitia is not the exception... and Terrabitia's legend tells us about the biggest battle between The Light Girl and Darkness Man. But who were they? They were ordinary children who went to ordinary schools and who had an ordinary life...

The legend starts with a little girl and her friend...

Leslie and Steve were cute children, they lived in USA with their parents. When Leslie was eight, she met Steve and they became best friends. They liked to play together. After classes, they usually liked to play with Steve's pet in the forest that was close to their houses.

One day in the afternoon, Leslie felt unhappy for the violence in the world and she decided to go to the forest. She walked until she arrived in the heart of the forest where there was a lake, she looked around. Some minutes later, she was swimming, but she stumbled upon a mysterious rope, she took the rope and she got into the lake. Something strange had happened, Leslie was in another dimension although, she did not realize. But a few minutes later, she noticed, that place was not the same. She saw around and she started to explore. That place was like a beach. She walked for a few minutes until she arrived to the biggest tree where there were some owls. She wanted to return home but she had forgotten the way to come back home. She walked nervously and the biggest owl flew behind her. Leslie turned back and very surprise said:

--Are you following me? -She did not hope an answer, but she kept asking. She felt alone and wanted company- Do you know, where am I? or how can I return home?

--Well, you are in our place -the owl said- you are the first human to discover this place.

--Can you speak? -She answered him very nervously- Can you understand me?

--Yes, I can. Do not be afraid, I will not hurt you.

--It is okay. But who are you? -she asked him very surprised-

--I am the guardian of this place, I am the only owl able to speak.

--Wow... It is amazing but can you help me to return home?

--Yes, but you have to wait the dusk.

--Why?

--Because the only way to come back home is crossing the lake and the lake is starting to freeze.

--It's okay, mmm can you tell me about this place?

So, the owl told her many things about that place.

--Well, this dimension is fantastic! I love it, but I have to return home.

--Yes, get on my back.

The big owl transported her in his back and a few seconds later she was in the forest again. She did not believe what had happened but she had the rope and she remembered what the owl said, "When you want to come here, you only have to enter to the lake with that mysterious rope".

The next day, she felt very excited and she told Steve about that wonderful place. Although, he did not believe her and she said.

--Why do not you believe me?

--Really? Can Owls talk? All seasons in a day, sorry Leslie, but I think you are crazy and it was a dream.

Finally, she convinced him to go with her. In the forest, she sought the rope. Then, they got into the lake and they were transported to Terrabitia...
