Ricky smiled as he held his dad's hand as he slowly walked behind him. He was often brought to his father's work, popping his thumb into his mouth.

"Today we're going to do something special Ricky."

"What?" Ricky was too old to be sucking his thumb, starting after his mother passed. The teenager, sniffled as he walked to a wall.

"You're going to meet someone I work with. One day you'll work here too."

"What if I don't want to?"

"It's the family business Ricky."

"I know." Ricky sighed as he looked at his feet. He quickly looked up at the sound of loud footsteps.

"Angelo! I was wondering when you'd get here."

"Sorry I'm late. The new... person we got is very interesting."

"You can talk about it around him. Ricky is short but old enough."

"I'm not that short." Ricky grumbled.

"Show him around Angelo. He hasn't been able to see many of the labs."

"Yes sir."

Angelo frowned as the small boy grabbed his hand. He let it go, slowly guiding him to different labs.

"These are not very interesting." Angelo sighed after a few minutes of walking. "Would you like to see something more... captivating?"

"You talk weird and sure." Ricky mumbled as he basically chewed on his thumb.

They headed upstairs, Ricky tilting his head as Angelo used his badge. It had a large one on it like Ricky's dad's did. Ricky clung to his side as he they made his way upstairs.

"What is this?"

"We have... creatures. We run experiments to help humans."

"You said that like you aren't one."

"Oh I'm not." Angelo chuckled. "Your father told me it was okay to explain why you have to work here. I'm an angel. A fallen angel and your great grandfather was the one to find me. Together we started this place to give creatures a chance to help humans and hide from the also. We also capture ones that are causing problems."

"Why is your name Angelo if you're an angel?"

"Angels don't have names till they come to Earth and are given one. You're great grandfather was not a creative man but he was very sarcastic." Angelo chuckled. "You have to keep this going. I'll be by your side to help you."

Ricky nodded, frowning as an alarm went off. "What's that for?"

"Someone got loose." Angelo muttered as he walked towards a computer. Ricky looked over his shoulder, tilting his head. His eyes widened at the sight.

"Who is that?!"

"His name is Ryan. You need to stay here while I go deal with him before he kills anyone else. Stay." Angelo muttered as he ran down the hall. Ricky sighed as he slowly looked through the windows on the doors.

"Can you let me out?"

Ricky tilted his head as he tiny person flew up to the door.

"Let me out. I'd like to stretch my wings a little more. Please. I'll grant you a wish."

"I don't have a wish." Ricky mumbled.

"If you let him out he'll kill you."

Ricky spun, eyes wide as he walked to another door. He stared at the man with wide eyes, giggling softly.

"What do you know?!" The tiny person yelled.

"I'm a demon. You're a pixie. We run in the same circles idiot." The man sighed. "He was captured and I gave myself up freely so they wouldn't hurt my girlfriend. What's your name?"

"Ricky."

"The professors kid? Let me guess. Gifted courses, set on graduating this year, college?"

"Yeah."

"Hm. Just like your father."

"That's what everyone says."

"Yeah. Let me out. Angelo left before he could let me have my walk."

Ricky hummed as he unlocked the man's door. "What's your name?"

"Josh. I won't hurt you, I'm due to be released anyway."

"Why?"

"Everyone has to face their crimes at some point. Can you promise me something?"

"Yeah."

"Don't kill Ryan. He'll be scary but he's important."

"Okay." Ricky shrugged.

"You're a good kid." Josh chuckled as he made his way down the hall. "Stay that way!"
