Picnic

Ayano's POV-

I walked out of class and I was greeted with Amao, as he says, " Hey Ayano! I was wondering if you can go on a picnic with me on school grounds? You know since you helped me with lunch earlier." As I got my hopes up that maybe he was asking me on a date... WAIT! No! I don't like Amao... he probably done this a million times with other girls anyway. So I just nodded in agreement.

We first walked to the cooking club so Amao can pick up the picnic basket and blanket. As we entered I saw the "Rainbow Six" putting the sandwiches on plates. Kokona said," Oh! Hey Amao. Ayano, were just about to pass out the sandwiches. Would you like to help, Ayano?" Amao replied for me just as I opened my mouth saying, " Oh, I'm sorry but she's going on a picnic with me." "Oooooooooooooo" some of the girls said. Amao just giggled and I rolled my eyes at their childish behavior. This was probably normal for anyone he takes out to eat. After all he just wants to share his food right.

Once we got outside and walked pretty far I set up the blanket as Amao sets up the food. When we were done he says, " Hey, your a bit quiet I can't tell if it's just you or if there's something going on." " I'm just thinking." I say in return. He then hands me a plate with a some pasta and says, " Here I made it this morning before I went to school, I used one of my grandmas recipes." I swirled some on my fork and took a bite. And it tasted AMAZING! After I swallowed I say, " This was amazing!" " Oh thanks! I made it from scratch." After he replied I continued eating and thought about what I said. It tasted amazing?! Was that an emotion? To like something? I'm not sure.

After we finished he opened a container only for cupcakes, and it fitted two. He opens it and asks, " Still have room?" I nodded and was handed a vanilla cupcake with strawberry icing. When I took a bite, I swear you can actually taste real strawberries, not that flavored stuff. "Mmmmmm" I said. Amao smiles before he took a bite off of his cupcake. After I finished mine I said, " How long did it take you?" " Well for the cupcakes I spent maybe 15-ish minutes and let them bake. And for the pasta maybe 40 minutes." Just as he said that the bell rang indicating we only had 5 minutes to get to class. I stood up and dusted off my clothes. Amao then says, " You can go put this away and clean it up later." I replied, " Thank you for the food Amao." Smiling with... an actual smile.
