Chapter 8- Bonding

Ladybug and Chat jumped on top of a nearby building. They had just stopped a mugger on their daily patrol. The fall night was chilly and quite. As a leaf blew by Ladybug sighed and sat down. Chat looked over to her. Ladybug watched as Chat sat down next to her. He put her in his lap.

" Chat? Wh-,"

" It's cold out here," He replied nuzzling into her neck. Ladybug relaxed and grabbed ahold of his hand and held it. They sat there for a couple minutes in silence.

" Chat?"

" Yes, m'lady?"

" Before you knew who I was, who did you love more? Me, or Marinette?" Ladybug asked looking at the sky above her. Chat looked at her surprised.

" M'lady I," Chat cut off, unable to speak.

" I won't be mad Chat. Just answer," Ladybug replied. Her heart clenched as she waited for him to reply with her superhero persona in mind.

" Marinette."

Ladybug turned, surprised at his answer.

" What!? But, didn't you like Ladybug first?" Ladybug said in shock. Chat's look was serious.

" You said to be truthful," Chat replied.

" Back then I had convinced that I only loved Ladybug, but that was a lie I told myself for so long. When I found out you we're the same, I stopped trying to lie to myself. The truth is I met Marinette first, I fell in love will her first and then I continued to love her more," Chat finished. Ladybug stood there speechless, blushing madly. She almost didn't believe him, but his face when he said it proved it enough. Tears started to stream down her face as she couldn't hold them back anymore.

" I-I didn't mean to make you cry!" Chat exclaimed engulfing her in a hug. She tried to stop but couldn't help it. Ladybug rested her head on Chat's shoulder.

" Thank you," Ladybug uttered under tears. Chat's face changed to surprise as she continued.

" T-thank y-you. N-no one h-has ever s-said that t-to me before. T-Thank y-you," Ladybug finished still in tears. Chat straightened up so that he was looking down at her.

" No need to thank me m'lady. I only speak the truth. No need to cry," Chat replied wiping her tears away with his hand. She smiled leaning into his touch.

" I really am a lucky bug," Ladybug said suddenly.

" Really? Why?" Chat replied.

" Because I have you," Ladybug replied. She giggled seeing Chat blush.

" I need to go home Chat," Ladybug said standing up. Chat stood up with her.

" Ok, I'll escort you," Chat replied grabbing his staff. Ladybug grabbed her yoyo and flew off, Chat beside her. Once they landed Ladybug called her detransformation. With the wave off her hand Marinette beckoned Chat inside. Once inside Chat sat on her chaise and she fetched some cookies. Chat smiled as she set the tray beside him and started to eat then one by one. Marinette sat in her desk chair and watched as he eat them. Chat looked back at her noticing her stare.

" Princess you're staring."

Marinette blushed and turned around in her chair.

" Sorry," Marinette muttered the reply. Chat smiled as he sat up and walked over to her.

" It's ok princess, I'm used to that anyway," Chat started hugging her from behind. Marinette turned around to face him.

" Is it because of your profession?" Marinette asked.

" Are you trying to get me to tell you who I am princess?" Chat said smirking as he put his face close to hers. She blushed but stayed at ease.

" And what if I am?" Marinette challenged. Chat's smirk grew wider as he drew closer.

" You should know better than that princess," Chat replied before kissing her. Once he pulled away he stood up and sat on her chaise.

" And, it is a part of the profession," Chat finished snapping Marinette out of her hase. Chat watched as she sat up in her chair and turned back to the closed sketchbook that layed on her desk. Truthfully the reason Chat didn't directly tell her was because he was afraid of what she might think of his civilian self. Marinette always had seemed off around Adrien and he didn't know why, nor did it please him that he would soon find out.
