A smile
It started with his smile
His smile that started this chase
For a lover, an admirer, a soulmate.
Sadness, loneliness, hurt
That's what I felt before meeting him
I felt out of place in the world
I felt alone
I had been negative
I focused on all the negativities
I looked at all the bad
And I didn't notice him by my side
Then he smiled at me
He blinded me from the negativities
He blinded me from the bad things
And he blinded me from him
I had been so caught up
So caught up admiring him
That I didn't hear, nor had I noticed
All about the other girl
But I was blind
Yet not by negativities
But by infatuation
Blinded from reality
And then that one faithful day
The day I opened my eyes
The day I got my heart broken
Yet, also the day I saw him
He had loved me
And yet, I hadn't looked his way
But I had opened my eyes
And I loved him, my soulmate.
