A week had passed since Jake's mother's death. The funeral had been done. Jake wasn't coming to school these days.
For the first two days he didn't talk to anyone nor did he eat but now he's getting better.
Tomorrow is my basketball match and we have to practicing like crazy for the past 1 and a half hour.
"Lets take a break!" Blake shouted.
ThankGod. I went towards the bleachers and took a sip of water from my bottle. I picked up my phone and decided to check up on Jake.
"Hey." He answered instantly at the first ring.
"How are you?"
"I'm fine. You know you don't have to call and check up on me after every 2 hours." He laughed a bit.
"Shut up. If I want to check up on you, I will. You can't stop me." I smiled.
"You're coming to my house after the practice?"
"Obviously I am."
Just then Blake blew the whistle signalling it was end of the small break we had. "Jake I gotta go. See you soon. Bye."
"Bye."
I hung up and ran towards the team.

"How is Jake?" Macy asked as we walked down the corridors.
"He's doing better than before." I replied.
"Will he come to the match tomorrow?"
"I hope so. I can't force him though."
"Hmmm."
"Anyways, how are you and Drake?" I asked signalling to their relationship.
"He is amazing!!" She squealed. "He is really sweet."
"Oh. Nice. I'm happy for you."
"So you're still not over Blake?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows.
"Actually I am over him. I heard he got a new girlfriend. This is the 3rd one in this month." I said trying to make a shocked face.
"Yeah. He's such a .... I don't even know what word to put in." We both laughed.
"See you later." I said opening my car door.
"Yeah bye."

"Hey Jerk." I said entering his house.
"Nerd."
I just put out my tongue at him.
"How was the practice?" He asked as we sat on the couch and he turned on the television.
"Fine as usual. The match is tomorrow. You're coming right?" I asked in the hope he'll agree.
He had his eyes glued to the screen and didn't answer. I guess he isn't coming. "How's Blake?" He asked suddenly.
"Fine. Just got another girlfriend." He rested his head back.
"Ooh. Sad." He smirked. I punched him in the arm. "Ouch! That hurts."
"I was hoping it does."
"Don't take out Blake's anger on me." He laughed. "I know you're jealous of his new girlfriend but don't hit me okay. Go smack that new girlfriend of his."
"I am not jealous okay." I defended.
"Yeah whatever." He rolled his eyes.
"Don't you roll your eyes at me dumbhead."
