Spencer Hastings POV
2 weeks later...
I was on my way to work when I heard a husky whisper, I knew it was Toby. I turned around to see him on one knee looking into the eyes of the girl from the airport.
"From the day that I met you I've felt happy, no sorrow, no pain. I would like to feel that way for the rest of my life. I would like to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" Toby asked Amera taking out a ring from his pocket. She started shaking her head and tears started running down her face. Toby's happy smile faded into a confused frown.
"Toby I can't, I came here to tell you I have been cheating on you. And that I'm breaking up with you." Amera said , weeping to her self. Toby gulped and slowly rose up from being on one knee. He put the ring in his pocket and walked away.
"Toby wait!" Amera called after him. But Toby was gone. She had broke his heart.
I arrived at work and all I could think of was this mornings events , how I hadn't seen someone break Toby's heart so hard before. I hadn't seen Toby's blue eyes water since the day we broke up. It makes me question. Should we still be together?
SH- Toby we need to talk. Brew 5:00pm
T- ok see you then
The rest of the work day dragged on with the
Brew later lingering on my tongue. I checked my watch. 4:00pm. I walked out the office and drove home.
When I got home I got changed into a light pink button up and blue jeans. I looked at myself in the mirror. "Be happy, be encouraging but don't fall in love." I repeated over and over again in my head. I checked my watch . 4:50pm. I grabbed my keys and phone and headed for the brew.
I arrived and sat down on the couches. I watched the door until I saw the blue eyed boy walk in. "Two lattes, one with an extra shot of coffee. Please." Toby ordered, I smiled knowing that he still remembers my order. Toby grabbed the drinks and sat down next to me.
"So how's it been ." I asked. I gazed into his blue eyes , Toby looked up but dodged my stare.
"Hard , I just can't believe she did that . I loved her. " he said , I could feel the sorrow in his voice as it cracked . "What makes matters worse she kicked me out of our house." He said .
"You could always stay in my guest room." I offered smiling. Toby nodded.
"Maybe I'll take you up on that offer." He grinned.
I drove back to my house with the added luggage of Toby and his suitcase. I turned to talk to him but caught him gazing . I smiled. I looked at the plumpness of his lips and couldn't stopping thinking of our last kiss.
"Toby, how are we going to make this work!" I said, the pregnancy scare was surely enough to break us up but living in to different states was even worse.
"I don't think we can . " He looked at me. I leaned in and he brushed a piece of hair behind my ear. "But I'll always love you. " he whispered, he kissed me. I kissed back knowing this would be out last.
I looked at his eyes , they were struck with sorrow. I arrived at my house and parked the car . We got out and I put his luggage in the guest room. He followed me up. He looked at me . I wanted to lunge at him and kiss him. But he's too vulnerable right now and vulnerability makes people do thinks they don't mean too. I want him to love me for real not because of vulnerability .
I got into my bed and all I dreamed about that night was our last kiss, our last dance and our last I love you's. These all made me wonder , did I make a mistake 5 years ago?
