Kiara pov: I shut my locker and slung my bookbag over my shoulders.

I walked out the double doors and outside.

I squinted getting used to the sunlight.

"Wait up Kiara!" I heard some one yell

I turned and saw Janet and Mar running towards me.

They reached me and we all started walking.

"So what time does your party start Janet?" I asked her.

"It's tonight at 8." She replied texting someone on her phone

"Lit." Mar said cutting in the middle of us.

I brushed it off as we walked up to my home

"I'll see y'all at the party." I said walking inside.

I shut the door and saw my mom sitting on the couch.

"Hey mom!" I greeted her with a hug.

"Hey sweetie." She replied hugging me back.

"Janet is throwing this party at like 8. I was planning on going but not without your permission." I said to her, walking to the kitchen

"Sure. Just don't do anything stupid." She said eyeing me.

I nodded and did a little dance.

I plopped down on my bed got on my phone.

I'm always on my phone

I began looking at posts on Instagram.

"Why she post that?" I asked myself chuckling

I was so bored and it was only 4.

I woke up from my nap.

I stretched and yawned stepping out of bed

I checked the time.

It was 7:39 pm.

I panicked a little but remembered when it actually starts.

I took my quick shower and dried off.

I stood in the middle of my walk in closet and contemplated on what to wear.

This was my final choice.

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled.

"Looking good beautiful." I told myself shutting the light off.

I walked downstairs to see no one there.

I walked to the door and opened it.

The warm night air hit my skin.

I ran my tongue over my braces and walked off the porch.

Janet's house was 3 minutes away from mine.

I made it there on time too.

Her house smelled like weed and alcohol.

I turned up my face at the mixed smells.

There were hundreds of people here.

Drunk, twerking,smoking. Hell even fucking

I was kinda discugsted.

I kept to myself on the couch.

I payed attention to my phone zoning out the nonsense.

"Hey shawty." This dude said sitting next to me.

He looked about 17 ish and reeked of weed.

I ignored him, but he continued to speak.

"Why you sitting by your self ma?" He asked leaning close.

I shrugged and continued to be un bothered.

"Want sum to drink?" He asked smiling.

I shook my head no and stood up.

I'm not drinking anything but the drink I brought here.

Which was a simple iced tea.

I held my drink close.

I still didn't trust it.

That guy was leaning pretty close to my drink. I tossed my tea in the garbage and stood by the wall.

I saw Mar from a distance talking to Vontae.

He spotted me and began to walk my way.

He smiled at me and I did the same.

"This party is way too hectic!" He shouted over the music.

I nodded fast agreeing with him.

"Wanna leave?" He asked leaning against the nearby wall.

I stood and thought.
"Yeah sure why not?"

We left the party and headed to towards​ the park.

The street lights were on, and I needed to be home soon.

We sat on the metal bench in silence.

"Have you ever wondered if love was real?" I asked him.

He turned his body to face me.

"I have always wondered that. I just didn't know where to find it at." He answered.

I nodded.

"I wanna know what it's like to be in love. And to know that your love is real." I said looking at our feet.

"Me too."

He sighed and scooted closer to me.

I scooted next to him, leaving barely any space.

I leaned my head on his shoulder, feeling him wrap his arms around me.

We stared at the glistening stars in silence
