Dewey stood paralyzed in front of his brothers and Webby, he couldn't believe what he just heard Webby say.
"You have a boyfriend! That's awesome Webby!" Huey exclaimed.
"Who's the lucky guy?" Louie asked with a smirk.
"His name's James, he's an old friend of mine, you guys would love him he's a really good listener and totally awesome," Webby said with a light blush.
A million thoughts swarmed Dewey's mind like; how come he's never heard of this James guy?How long have they been going out? And, most importantly, why did he care so much?
"You haven't said anything in awhile Dewey, are you okay?" Webby asked, concerned for her best friend.
'No!' is what he wanted to say, but he faked a smile instead. "Y-yeah I just zoned out, I'm happy for you and James," he felt his heart break as he said that.
Webby didn't look convinced, she was about to say something when she heard a sound from her phone, signaling she had received a text. She looked at it and smiled slightly.
"It's from James, he wants to hang out at the smoothie shop downtown," Webby explained.
"But weren't we were gonna hang out today?" Dewey asked.
"She can take a raincheck, you don't wanna keep your BF waiting," Louie said, much to Dewey's annoyance.
"Thanks, I'll make it up to you guys," Webby said on her way out, but not before looking back at Dewey, who's expression was a mixture between sadness and annoyance, much to Webby's confusion. She shook her head, she couldn't worry about that now, and so she headed to the smoothie shop unaware of the broken-hearted boy she left behind...
