The Next Step - 2 years on

•Chapter 7 - Someone's back•

Daniel's POV

"Daniel?" James looks at me, jaw dropped. Moments later West and Eldon appear in the door frame looking at me like I'm an alien. They haven't changed a lot though since the last time I saw them at Internationals.
"How the hell did you find where we live?" Eldon whispers to the others or probably to himself.
"Just did some calls." I answer casually. They look at each other and then at me.
"What do you want Daniel?" West asks letting me in. I walk in and take a look at their living room. Two blue couches, a small black coffee table, a big TV on top of another table that a game console underneath it. The walls have a red colour. Then I spot a mini hall that probably leads to the kitchen, the bathroom and their bedrooms. It doesn't seem that big but it's really cosy.
"Daniel. What do you want?" West repeats once again.
"Look guys I know I did some pretty bad things to you at the past and all I thought about was myself but I want to make it up to you. And not just the three of you. All of you. Every single person in the old "A-Troupe". Please, all I need is a chance to prove what I really am. Remember when we were bros? Back when we were preparing for Regionals?"
The three of them are looking at me, sinking in every word I say. James and West's expressions seem more friendly and not as hardened as Eldon's. I continue my speech though. "I know I have to work hard to gain your trust again but I'm willing to do anything you want me to. I really missed you. Our jokes, our laughs, our tough times, when we danced together. Everything. And... I'm coming tonight at the studio too." And with that I walk out of their apartment and close the door behind me.
I really need to show them the real Daniel. Not the selfish one I've always been. The one I was before everything started happening. But at first I have to talk to them and make them understand that I'm not the same. That I have changed over the past two years. Tonight is my only chance. I got to give this my all.

West's POV

"Um.. Hm.. Do you.. Do you want to talk about this?"
"I vote skip it. Honestly I'm hungry and can't deal with his drama right now." James says calmly rubbing his head. I nod, agreeing with him. But when we wait for Eldon's answer, he stands up and starts walking around.
"How could he? HOW? How could he walk into our lives once again, acting like nothing ever happened, wanting us to forgive him when he was acting like a completely jerk? Huh?" He yells at us. James and I share a look and he nods which means that he'll start speaking first to calm him down. When it's about Daniel, Eldon always gets angry.
"Hey, Eldon. I know you're mad about the stuff he did to us before, I mean I'm still too, but see? He wants to make it up to us. So please calm the hell d-"
"NO. No I freaking won't. And you wanna know why? Because he has never been a team player. All he could ever think about was himself. And he still does, I swear. Weird isn't it? That suddenly after 2 fucking years he wants to make it up to us? Really? He wants something James. Maybe, just maybe.. I'm not one hundred percent sure but I think I know what he wants." He says while sitting back at the couch.
"Whoa Eldon, I don't think he wants what you think he wants. I mean.." I say to him. It does make sense but still.. What if he's not right and Daniel just wants to be friends with us again? Does it really worth to risk it?
"Yes, West. That's what I think. He probably heard the rumours about Kate leaving the studio, so yeah. That's exactly what he wants. He wants to be The Next Step's Studio Head."
"West drop it. Eldon has a point and I agree with him." James says disappearing into the hall going straight to his room. Seconds later he comes back, typing something on his phone. When he's done he shows it to us.
"Changing plans. Come in an hour at the park we used to hang out instead of the studio. Don't even worry about it, we'll explain everything there. James, West, Eldon."
"What? Why?" Eldon asks puzzled.
"We have to prepare them for what's coming. And when we're done, we'll see what we'll do."

"Has anyone replied yet?" I ask him a few minutes later.
He hands me his phone with the group chat he probably made before opened. Every person has replied with an "okay". Thank God they trust as enough to listen to us even though they don't know what has happened. It's 7:30 so we start making our way to the park. When we arrive it's 7:50 and no-one's here as we expected. Fifteen minutes later everyone is here and we start greeting them before we tell them why we brought them here instead of the official plan. I look over where Eldon is standing still looking at something. I glance at the direction he does and see..
"Oh no. How did he find us again? Has he put somewhere cameras or something?" I whisper. It's Daniel.
Then I remember about the group chat James made earlier and type as quick as I can.
"This is what, or better who, we wanted to talk to you about but as I can see he had a better idea."
Soon everybody's looking at their phones and then at me, James and Eldon, eyes widened.
"Hey guys." Daniel says simply walking up to us all smiley.
Well, here we go.
