Prologue

The night was a cold one and most certainly a dark one. The moon, crescent, yet covered up by a large panel of clouds that aren't showing any signs of disappearing any time soon.

The streets of Shizume empty and the shops closed due to the lateness into the night that will stretch on for the next several hours till the sun begins to rise over the horizon and alighting the city, but for now, the street lights on, creating cones of light beneath them and giving an eerie, yet ambient glow to the street in which has only one being walking down the street.

Tall skyscrapers surrounding the street with un-cluttered bins, benches and traffic lights at the sharp junctions down the road. Trees and ferns surrounded by wooden planters. Drains to keep the streets dry and litter, almost non-existent. Overall, the city is known for its majestic beauty during the day, but at night, a whole other story. Children told to stay inside for their safety due to gangs that at filtered through the streets in run-down warehouses, and the underground.

The street empty of life until a being shuffles out from an alley way, wiping their thin fingers and palm against the flowers hanging from a basket from a closed cafes' overhang. Clear, curved nails tearing into the leaves on accident. Not for the smell, but to dry her hands from a substance unknown.

"Homra... Why must it be so far...?" Her voice soft and calm as she tightens the hoodie around her. The deep grey hoodie seems massive, obviously a few sizes larger that her average, 5ft 6, skinny yet femininely muscled figure.

A male hoodie.

The hood outlined with lighter grey fur and pulled up to shade her facial features and hair which are undetected to the looming light. The hoodie falling mid-thigh and long trousers vanish into knee-high boots of black. The rest of the females' appearance completely drowned out.

Just the way she wants it.

The night had caught up with her before she could react, and now, stuck on the opposite side of the city, in the dead of night, without any means of transportation home... home in Homra. Her actions earlier that day, important for her future, but all so sudden that gave no option but to do it the same day she thought of it.

"Mikoto... Izumo... Tartara, please forgive me for my insanely late arrival." She murmurs, keeping eyes peeled for any take away, or restaurants opened twenty four seven, but so far... to no avail. "Mikoto... will probably be out searching for me already..." A cold wind whips past her as she sighs, one that would send a natural chill through someone, yet she doesn't shiver, or shake affectively.

"I wonder if I'll witness his tem-..." She suddenly halts, voice trailing off before finishing, tilting her head up as the streetlight above her flickers in and out of working order. The glow catching her eyes revealing the mass of blue hues that make up her orbs, but her face is splashed into darkness as the light above her bursts into sparks and faltering embers.

Completely dead. "How... worrying." Emotionless, yet coaxed with suspiciousness.

The sound of people talking nearby suddenly alert her, arms dart into the pockets of her hoodie as she lowers her head again, taking steps forth at a quicker pace, only for a scream to ripple through the air. A scream that didn't belong to her. A heart wrenching scream before the sound of trash bins being knocked over vibrates through the air, mixing with the scent of metallic blood.

A fight that usually happens around the red light district at this time, for its not early morning, but near midnight.

Muffled screams and the ruffling of attire reaches her ears as she takes tentative steps forth, pressing her back against the brick wall of a bakery. An alley way wedged in between the bakery, and a tall skyscraper with glass panels as walls. The sobbing silenced.

The light in the passage way, non-existent, yet, she can easily make out the three figures, half way down the narrow path in cased in the walls. A dead end opposite her.

Two silhouettes tall, and easily over 6ft. Their bodies leaning over the third form lying motionless on the stone floor. "Gang..." She murmurs softly, knowing almost instantly. The smell of newly shredded blood from veins lingering like the clouds in the sky.

She holds two options, one is to take a step back and run in the opposite direction, heading straight towards her home in Homra, and spend the rest of the night in Mikoto's arms after attempting to make some sort of food to fill her growling stomach, or... step in, and drag their attention away from the limp figure with any means necessary.

Yet, that's a risk. Her aura... out of reach, and un-usable.

Her heart burning with the inability to go with the first option.

Adjusting the long cuffs of her hoodie, the female steps out in front of the exit, sighing with annoyance. "I'd leave if I were you." Her voice, lost its calm and cold tone but commanding and sharp. She winces as the two tall figures freeze and instantly dropping the body which they were in the process of picking up. "As for the third, don't treat them like a rag doll."

"Hey! You!" The voice masculine, rough and dripping with recent alcohol, taking a daring step forth. "Don't you dare move!"

"Commanding me...? Mikoto would be pissed..."

He takes another step forward.

"I'm not strong... but if I can lead them elsewhere..." She murmurs, taking a step back, however, a rippling gasp as a hand darted out, clasping over her mouth from behind and her hands instantly darting to the arm wrapping around her neck, grasping her in a grip that's blocking some of her oxygen intake. "Get off!" The female yelps, jumping as best she can, back and forth to try loosening the grip. "Bastard!"

The man behind her gasps as she slams her heel down upon his foot, pulling away from him as he released his grip is shock, turning with her upper body bent forward before slamming her left boot into the right side of his waist. He drops to grab and sooth the targeted area. The lights of the street giving her perfect view of the man who grabbed her.

Rugged attire, torn and ripped in many areas, shoeless but what catches her attention the quickest is his eyes. Grey and Yellow. "You're a strain..." She raises her hands in warning, raising her chin and straightening her back, not before fixing her hood. She must not allow them to see her appearance.

"Be-hind Y-o-u."

It happened so quick, with speed that should've given her whiplash, she turned around only to see one of the men from the alley lunging for her while the other has the limp body flung over his shoulder.

Just as she was about to duck out of the way before attacking back, a firm slam of a hand cracks into her pressure point at the tip of her neck. Darkness taking over her gaze, mind becoming nothing more than a foggy haze. Body tumbling forward and slamming into the floor with no movement.

Her last thoughts shot to Homra, and the people sitting, awaiting there for her to return. The violent rage of Mikoto is something she can already feel.

"We've been waiting for you. King."

My name is Ralasi Turio, and that happened... over six years ago.

Don't judge my story from this first page... But judge it from the last.
