She tosses and turns in bed that night (well, it was actually 1am), a smitten smile still plastered on her face as she hugs her pillow tight. Their kiss? It was so uh-mazing she couldn’t get it out of her head that, even after taking 10 minutes to say goodnight to each other in between kisses before finally retreating to their respective rooms and another hour of talking on the phone while both are lying in bed, they finally call it a night at 11pm. Yep, It’s been 2 hours.

She tries reading on her Kindle but as she goes through each sentence on the novel’s seventh chapter, her head keeps going back to the gym room and his bedimpled smile and their wonderful kiss. “Menggay, ala una na ng madaling araw!” She mumbles to herself as she gets up and wears her slippers and nods. “Milk. Milk should help.”

She carefully goes down the stairs and tiptoes to the fridge. She pours herself some cold milk a mug to warm in the microwave then drums her fingers rhythmically against the marble countertop as she waits for it and she giggles once again. “Dammit, Maine! Ikalma mo yang kilig mo!”

She is sitting on a stool by the breakfast bar as she finishes her warm milk when she finally thinks of something to do to take her mind of RJ’s lips and strong (and might she add, large) hands. She remembers the exercise she prepared for RJ’s therapy later today and realizes she might as get a headstart as she opens the cupboard and takes out flour and sugar, goes to the fridge to get butter and milk. Yep, baking.

He practically bounces down the stairs and (almost tripped) when he hears rustling sounds from the kitchen. His heart beats faster, brows furrowed, palms suddenly clammy as he gingerly walks to the direction of the sound, his brain already thinking of ways on how to confront this stranger, his eyes roaming around the darkened house to find something he could hit him with. For all he knows, he could be a thief, or worse a serial killer.

But, then he hears humming, and from himself a sigh of relief as he recognizes the voice. Finally able to breathe easy, he peeks into the kitchen and swallows nervously as she finds her facing the cupboards, her back facing him, her curves perfectly traced by the thin fabric of robe she is wearing.

He startles her when he wraps his arms around her, kissing her shoulder before resting his chin on it. “Good morning, Babe. What are you doing?”

“RJ namaaan! Nakakainis to!” She playfully hits his arm but giggles all the same.

“Bakit gising ka pa kasi? Anong oras na?”

“Sinong kayang may kasalanan?” She asks in a singsong voice. “Sino po kaya ang maharot?”

“Ako lang ba?” He asks in a low voice as he peppers her shoulder with butterfly kisses.

“Baaabe!” Her voice admonishing despite her head tilting to the side, giving him better access. “Wait lang kasi, RJ. I’m doing something.”

“Sorry, sorry.” He snickers and reluctantly releases her. “Ano ba kasi yan?”

“Dough. Bread dough.”

“Foooor?”

“For your therapy later. Don’t you dare laugh.” She warns, her eyes reduced to slits.

“I’m not.” He says, biting his lip as he simpers. “I won’t.”

“Ok. Dito ka. Lagay mo tong dough dito sa breakfast table. Now I was planning to prepare this lang sana but since you’re here na. We might as well start para may pandesal din tayo for breakfast later.”

“Bakit pa? May pandesal na ko dito oh.” He smirks as he lifts the hem of his white shirt, giving her a peek of his taut stomach and that happy trail that goes all the way down to--. “Babe, up here!” He quips, his smile growing even wider as he sees her eyes widen and her cheeks flushed.

“Ibaba mo nga yan! Wag mo kong idisctract, utang na loob, Gov. Makinig ka kasi.” She tells him as she turns away and sprinkles flour over the marble countertop, effectively hiding her reddened face from him. “Ilagay mo na yang dough dito tapos umpisahan na natin ang therapy mo.”

“Babe, it’s 2am. And nothing good happens after 2am.”

She smiles at him sultrily and glides her flour hands seductively from his elbow down to his wrist leaving goosebumps down its trail. “I will prove you wrong.”
