Falling in Love

High school.

Defining high school is like trying agree with a sibling. It's impossible.

It is indeed impossible to define high school because the definitions vary.

Although on Google, high school is described as a school attended after elementary school or junior high school and usually consisting of grades 9 or 10 through 12.

Now, in the eyes of someone who may be battling depression, that very lengthy definition can be shortened to one word. Hell.

Though that is not the case for everyone. Every single human being among the planet is different. Personalities definitely included. So to the preppy cheer leader, high school is great. She's popular, pretty, and perfect in the description of other students. To the slightly over weighted young boy, it may be miserable, bullying is definitely an issue. To the almighty mythic bitch, Heather Chandler, she floated above it all.

Many different people with different descriptions, yet Google sums it up to the basic, stereotypical, bland definition.

High school, to Y/N L/N was a burden.

She had somehow survived through the previous years, and through the change of middle school.

The three and a half years she had endured so far in this prison, was a weight on her shoulders begging to be lifted.

Everyday was a constant burst of emotions she hid within herself, it was the pressure of upholding an education, and a reputation.

It was now, as a senior, the reminder that you're on your own, college is approaching.

It was a concept easy for many to grasp, another breeze to pass by. It changed senior year, although. To Y/N it was a bundle of simple thoughts combined into one mess in her brain. A mess that was slowly destroying her, and ruining that education and poorly kept reputation she had.

That bundle of simple thoughts made into a mess created a monster, eating away all other thoughts mustered.

And all this drama, these issues, were constructed under one introduction to a certain John Laurens.

John Laurens wasn't one to purposely bring himself to attention, (although that changed over time) but his rowdy lunch table brought that upon him instead.

John Laurens was confident, yet secure, but when around his friends a totally different person.

Y/N, being her quiet self, had many qualities she hid due to her shyness. One talent she held, was the ability to read people abnormally well.

By observing him from her lunch table in the corner, she knew he had a wonderful personality. His eagerness to help others especially his friends, beamed off of him in a sense of pride. Yet when he wasn't being sweet and utterly adorable, he was courageous. His eyes filled with a sparkle for a new adventure, or a prank to pull.

But as Y/N would observe his actions, she literally could not bring her eyes from looking away at his face. He was attractive. Long, brown curls framed his face, usually swept back in a ponytail. His smile was huge, showing perfectly lined teeth. John's eyes were ones anyone could get lost in. Above it all, were the freckles scattered upon his face, arms, legs and definitely other places.
