Beth Direction

Chapter 1

Bethany's POV

It had been a week since I had got and invitation to Vidcon. It was in two months. I had mixed emotions. I felt exited and happy yet I also felt miserable because it was my friends birthday that weekend and I didn't want to miss it. Did friends come before YouTube? I guess but my viewers are my friends so...

I didn't know.

I was sat in my bed eating goldfish crackers and on my laptop. I had music playing at full volume and couldn't help but keep repeating funny videos on YouTube.

I went into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. My hair was messy and knotted and my makeup was all smudged from yesterday since I didn't take it off. I decided to do myself up and film a video. Once I was ready I got out my camera and tripod and found a place to film. I had bought some stuff from Bath and Body Works, Forever 21 and I also wanted to show some items from my collection.

I clicked record.

"Hey guys!" I exclaimed in a weird voice, "OK, that was random but anyway...Today I'm gonna do a haul for you guys. So I went to Forever 21 and Bath and Body Works and picked up some stuff!"

I clicked the button which meant it turned off. I needed a drink. I hadn't even mentioned yet that I was showing some items from my collection. I went downstairs and poured myself some juice. My mom left me a note on the counter.

'To Beth, Got you a gift since I haven't seen you a lot this week, Love mom,'

I smiled. Underneath was a thin delicately wrapped present. I could tell it was a magazine. The wrapping was blue with a MOTERVATER sticker on it. I opened it up. It was a magazine. On the front cover was a picture of One Direction. I would love to meet them but I suppose their way to big and don't have time.

I went back upstairs carefully clutching the magazine and juice. I lay the magazine beside me and started filming again.

"And also at the end of this video I'm gonna show you some of my fave's from my clothing line. So first from Forever 21 I have..." I said happily.

I looked inside the bag and saw my nieces toy. I slightly blushed. I hope the viewers didn't notice that my face went all red.

"a um... really nice floral maxi skirt. I really like it and... Um...Yeah...that's really cute". I said carrying on. I went on to the next item.

"OK. Next I have these denim shorts with this adorable lace detailing on he pockets. These were...um.. 12 dollars which was a great deal...um... Yeah. That's nice as well". I said mumbling a bit.

It was hard. I usually just pull out the items roughly not caring about them. This time I was looking really carefully. I didn't want my viewers to think something was up and didn't want to pull the toy out either. "So next..." I said trying to act happy,"...um, a minion tank top. And you know me and my minions guys. I couldn't just leave it there and plus I will wear this a lot. Anyway it was on sale for 8 dollars."

I looked back in the bag. I took the toy out, "How did my niece's toy get in here?" I asked laughing. It was a good thing that was over and done with but I still thought that something wasn't right. I opened the bag wider to find the next item.

"AHHHHHH!" I screamed. My baby niece was in the bag. I screamed again.

"Beth...Beth...Wake up!"

I closed my eyes and opened them again. My mom was there.

"Huh?" I said confused.

"Beth. It's dinner. You took a nap because you were so stressed about Vidcon and your friends party and needed a rest. Come on...get up!" My mom told me.

"Fine. Please can you help me up." I replied. My mom groaned.

"Come on then!" She said pulling me up, " Up we get!"

She was acting as if I was a two year old. Sometimes my mom is super annoying. I was hungry so I walked downstairs casually trying not to make it seem like I cared about her treating me like a child.

Me and my mom sat down at the table since everyone else was out. My mom switched on the telly and the news came on.

"Hello! Welcome to California news. Todays top story, the sensational band called One Direction have now became pop history!" Announced the news presenter. I smiled. 

"How can they? It's all the looks not the voice." My mom said.

"Mom!" I groaned, "they might be good looking but they're amazing singers!"

"Sure!" My mom said sarcastically. I shook my head and smiled because she was always moaning about celebrities.

"Anyway, have you decided if you're going to Vidcon?" My mom asked.

"I think so?" I replied, gripping my hair in my fists. But in my head I really didn't know.
