I arrived at 11pm, going straight to the bench I bought and sitting down. I stared at my boots for a long moment before speaking. "I never wanted to have to see you like this. We had a deal. You made a promise." I choked on my words, tears falling down my face as I raised my head to look at her headstone. "You broke your promise." I whispered.

"My sweet jesus I can't see! The feels! They've blinded me! The tears are too much!" She yelled hysterically.

I walked into our bedroom and looked at her in confusion and disbelief. "Babe?" I asked cautiously.

She sniffled, turning to look at me. "Yes?"

My eyes looked around the tissue covered bed, before landing on the tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. "Are you okay..?" I questioned, sitting next to her and rubbing her back soothingly in concern.

She laughed, confusing me further. "I'm fine. This movie is just cruel. It has all the feels." She turned to me, smilingly brightly.

I stared at her a moment longer. "What movie are we talking about exactly?"

Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked back to the tv screen. "Marley & Me. It just ended."

I looked at her with barely contained amusement. Every single time. Whenever she watched the movie, she ended up crying. It never deterred her from watching it though.

I looked at her, suddenly feeling the need to ask. "You're never going to disappear from my life, right?"

She sobered, looking at me with a small smile. "If I disappear from your life, it wasn't my choice. I promise you I will never willingly leave you." She fixed me with a pointed look, grabbing my chin gently. "And you know I don't break promises." She whispered, kissing me gently.

"You hated crying in front of people." I smiled sadly. "You claimed it made you look like a Gremlin." I felt my throat closing up as I continued.

Smiling, I laughed, more tears falling. "You would have tears still falling down your face, with your eyes all red and puffy, but no matter what, I still thought you were beautiful." I choked on another sob as I looked at her headstone with a rueful smile.

"Every time I called you beautiful you would look at me with that smile and say, "I'm only beautiful because you're handsome." knowing I couldn't disagree." I looked away, focusing on the tree beside the bench.

"I miss my Butterfly." I choked out. "Have I mentioned I am absolutely disgusted with myself for what happened?" I asked, looking at her grave. "I should have never let her come in the house. I never should have taken the chance. I swear to you I never meant for that to happen, baby. I swear." I cried, my voice cracking as I pushed passed the lump in my throat.

"I used to call your phone just to listen to your voicemail, but after the first week the voice mailbox was full and it wouldn't play your recording anymore.." I admitted quietly. "I called every night to tell you goodnight, to make sure you knew I still loved you."

I looked to her headstone, hoping her ghost was near. "I will always love you, Butterfly. You were my one and only. Nobody will ever replace you. I swear to you, princess. I will never kiss another girl. You have my heart. It's buried in that coffin with you." I hoped my voice was stronger than I felt. I hoped she believed me. "I love you, Butterfly. Always and Forever."

"I'm sure she knows how much you love her."

I looked to my right, seeing a young redheaded girl sit next to me on the bench with her German Shepherd.

I looked away quickly, wiping my tears away with my sleeve. I turned back to her, "Arabella?" I questioned.

She smiled, nodding her head. "The one and only."

"Where are your friends?" I asked, looking around.
