"Alex! You better hurry or we're going to be late!"

Ugh, I groaned as I stared in the mirror applying my last coat of lipgloss. My mom was always yelling at me for being late to go places when I lived with them in high school. Thought it would stop once I was older, but clearly it hasn't.

"ALEX!"

"Your father is waiting!"

Jesus, guess she can't wait two more minutes.

"Mom do you want me to look like complete trash or not!? I'm gonna assume not, so can you PLEASE wait two minutes!" I yelled out my door at my mom.

I was getting ready to attend the US Open at Erin Hills. I'd been to lots of golf events before, as my dad was a sports broadcaster for the PGA Tour. Yes, my dad is one of the guys that narrates the biggest lame dad sport ever, golf.

I hadn't been to a golf event in years, as I've been busy in college at UW Madison. Also as you could probably tell I really don't like golf.

Shocker, I know. A 22 year old girl not liking golf. Well at least a shocker to my dad, who's tried to push the sport on me my whole life.

I'll admit I'm not too shabby when it comes to swinging a club, thanks to the lessons I had for many summers at the country club.

But do I enjoy it? Haha that's a big no. I've tried to avoid golf as much I as can since I've been away from my parents in college. But now that the US Open has come to my home state of Wisconsin, I really had no excuse out of this one.

And trust me I tried.

"ALEX!" Screamed my mom. Shaking me out of my thoughts.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back.

I quick gave myself a one over in the mirror before leaving.

My green eyes were shaded by my Titleist golf hat. (Christmas gift from my dad).  And my light brown hair was tied up in a high ponytail.

I smoothed out my white golf skirt and pink top.

Well better get going before my mom actually kills me.

I grab my phone and walk out the door.

Ugh.

My mom flattened out her dark brown hair and stared at me. She looked me up and down with her brown eyes.

"You look surprisingly presentable enough for getting ready in only 20 minutes".

I rolled my eyes.

"Gee thanks Mom".

"Alright we better get going! Like I said your fathers waiting!"

I walked outside and hopped into my moms black Tahoe.

I sigh. This is gonna be a long 4 days.

Today was only Thursday just the practice rounds, and my mom was already this rilled up.

Great. I'm in for an interesting weekend of golf.

To be continued....

Hey y'all!!!
I got a great story planned out for this!! I haven't really read or seen any great golfer stories on here so I decided I'd write one myself.

Stick around because I'm gonna be updating regularly, and hopefully everyday!!!
:)
