I've never actually been to a high school party before (I'm an innocent freshman just starting high school this year). So I'm sorry for the inaccurate description I've come up with from reading a bunch of books. Also, since there are some Hispanic characters (Olivia, Ricardo, and family) in Fraud Versus Freak, some Spanish will be spoken. However, with my limited knowledge of the language from my four weeks of Spanish immersion camp, I have very bad vocabulary and a horrible sense of grammar. Criticism and comments on the Spanish (and the writing) are welcome and I understand if some people want to laugh at the Spanish. I do that a lot when I hear people attempt to speak my language. Thank you for understanding and reading! (Please try to vote if you like the story!)

"What are we supposed to do at a party?" Reese clutched at Charlotte's arm, terrified as she stared at the crowds of people pressing arm to arm together in the dim light.

"I don't know." Charlotte said sarcastically, trying to shake Reese off "Party?" She caught sight of something and said: "Oh, I see Ricky over there, see ya later at twelve, Peanut." Then she flounced off, leaving Reese standing alone in the middle of the dance floor.

Desperate, she glanced around for anyone she would know. Sam? No, he was in the corner, already flirting with some girl. Nate? Nate was surrounded by a group of boys he was just automatically friends with. Garrett? Nelson? Max? All of the remaining Parkers seem to know what they were doing here, even Isabelle, who had graduated three years ago, was surrounded by a group of senior girls asking her for fashion and cheerleading advice.

Resigned, Reese slowly edged towards the drink table, hoping that a cup of soda would calm her jittery nerves down. There was a dark haired girl that Reese guessed was supposed to be manning the table, but she was too busy shoving her tongue down another guy's throat. Awkwardly averting her gaze, she quickly snatched a plastic cup from the pile and filled up on sparkling liquid that hopefully was what she was looking for.

Having gotten her drink, Reese looked for some place to sit. Spotting an empty couch pushed up against the wall in the corner, she gingerly picked up her across the room, trying not to bump into a giggling body or spill her drink over her dress.

However, when Reese got there, another girl was already occupying the couch. She was leaning against the armrest casually, her long brown hair cast over a shoulder. Her long legs sprawled on the couch, taking up the entire space, and her head was stooped down which was why Reese didn't see her before.

Reese shuffled her feet. Should she greet her? Or just sit down? Even though she had been the most popular 'boy' at her high school, parties weren't really her thing. She had declined every single one from a simple back to school party to an eighteenth birthday.

"Are you going to sit down? Or just stare like a creep?" The girl spoke from her seat, not looking up from something in her lap.

"Erm," Reese shifted, uncomfortable "Hi?" She squeaked, shy in the skin and personality she never wears. "I'm Ree— Riley."

"Hi, Riley." The girl shifted, sitting up straighter, taking her long legs off the couch and patted the seat next to her; a silent invitation. "I'm Olivia. You can call me Liv."

Reese carefully let herself perch on the edge of the sofa, her left arm not holding her cup bracing her weight on the seat.

"I'm not going to bite." Olivia said, arching a perfect eyebrow at the way Reese was sitting "You can actually sit you know."

"I know." Reese grimaced, shifting backward, forcing her tense muscles to relax. "I'm just nervous."

"First time at a party?" The other girl asked, glancing at the couple in the dark pressed so close together it seems like they were one person.
