One date, that’s all I ask

One date can’t cause too much pain right? After sighing I respond,

“One date…”

“Yes! Ok I’ll pick you up tomorrow at 6?”

I tell him my address and we say goodbye. Now it is time for me to sleep. I already told Cassie I won’t go out with her because I’m tired, so she will think I’m lying if I stay up now. But I really should start planning what I am wearing.

I open my eyes. Did I fall asleep? I must have. I reach over and bang on my bedside table a few times before I feel my phone and pick it up. 12pm! Stupid jetlag. I hear my door creak open slightly. I prop myself up on one elbow and sit up to see Cassie poking her head through. Cassie is a natural red head, with her gorgeous short hair sitting in loose natural curls on her shoulders. She has beautiful brown eyes that always seem to be smiling. While she isn’t particularly pale, she is lighter than I am. She doesn’t have a single freckle, which I am envious of, though she always complains makes her face boring. She uses her tiny hips to push the door out of her way while she slides into my room. In her hands is a cup of coffee, God I love that girl. She walks over to my bed and sits down. Even with her back slouched she is still taller than I am. She is built like a model, tiny frame and gorgeous long limbs. However she always complains about her lack of boobs and bum.

Cassie quizzes me about my trip to Los Angeles, but all I can really think about is my approaching date with Liam, should I tell Cassie? She is my best friend, my roommate, my rock. I have to tell her, right? Of course, I would trust her with my life.

She can help me get ready for the date tonight too, she is amazing with that stuff. I can’t let myself get too excited, it will come at too much of a cost, too much pain. I can be excited though right? I mean a date with Liam Payne from One Direction, any girl would kill someone to be in my shoes right now. I wonder where he will take me?

“Ella!”

“Yeah, what?”

“I was asking about if there were any hot lawyers at the firm, but now I want to know what you are smiling about.”

She truly does know me so well. I could never lie to Cass. I just need to word it right. I take a sip of my coffee to stall and she raises her eyebrows so high up I am concerned they are going to fall off of her head.

I put my coffee down and start,

“You have to promise that you won’t tell anyone, you won’t freak out and you will help me get ready.”

“Babe, you’re freaking me out what’s up?”

I guess here it goes.

“On the plane ride back I got upgraded to first class because my seat was broken. They only had one seat left, connected to Liam Payne. We got to talking and he asked me out on a date.”

Cassie’s eyes go huge and her jaw drops to the floor. She freezes for a few seconds and I can pretty much see the clogs in her brain turning and piecing everything together. Her lips turn up into a smile that reach her eyes, though aren’t tainted with jealousy.

“You lucky bitch! You better shag him or I will”

“Cassie!”

“Don’t blame me, blame the hormones. I mean have you seen him damn! And you get to go on a date with him you lucky girl!” She isn’t exactly screaming, but she is definitely not being quite. I tell her all the details of our plane conversation all the way up to the phone conversation we had last night.
