After the heartfelt conversation and a long hug with my - okay so I'm still working on what to call her - I went back upstairs to get ready for the day. After showering and throwing on a baby blue skater dress, I tied up my wet hair and went back downstairs to find croissants and jam laid out on the table.
"You look pretty sweetie" my - okay, so until I can actually decide what to call her I'm going to refer to her as Jordan's mum... It sounds harsh as I know that's not all she is but I don't know, okay? - said, setting a mug of hot chocolate down on the table for me.After thanking her and sitting down at the table, Jordan walked into the kitchen wearing a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms. Yes, just a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms. Seriously, how on earth could he think it was a good idea to come downstairs without wearing a top or you know, socks? Yes, I know it's just a guy thing but... I don't know, okay? I'm very confused about my life and my emotions right now. Jordan should be more considerate to my - um, eyes...? Arhhh!!
"Hey Jess..." he said, sitting down across from me, rather than his usual place; next to me.
"Hey..." I said, feeling stupid butterflies fight each other in my tummy.
This is just so ridiculous! I'm no longer crushing on my brother which is an obvious plus, but do you have any idea how hard it is to have a crush on your adoptive brother? It feels strangely harder which is of course even more ridiculous!"So, you two... I think we better start off this morning as we mean to go on" Jordan's mum said, placing her hands firmly on the table and repeatedly looking from Jordan to me and back again.
"What are you talking about?" Jordan asked, his frustration clear in his voice and facial expression. He wasn't usually one to get frustrated so maybe he had predicted her next words.
"Well, you know... Now that you know the truth... It's just a bit... Well, I just need to - we just need to set some things straight. A new set of rules as such..."
"Rules? Are you serious?" He replied as I got an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach.
"Yes, um, no going into each others rooms unless the door is open... Stuff like that. Nothing big... Don't worry" she said, looking at us with a nervous smile on her face.
"It's too late to make rules like that mum..." Jordan said standing up and walking over to where I was sitting.
"It's never too late Jordan as I am your mother and I -"
But he cut her off by crouching down in front of me; placing one hand on either side of my face and pulling me in for a gentle kiss on the lips.
Standing up, he smiled at his mother who stood there in shocked silence and casually walked out of the room.A/N - I know it has been far too long since I updated and this chapter is short but I hope what just happened makes it up to you fans who are still here with me!! :)
