The Auto driver sees us from his mirror and gives me a look which I ignore. I just tell Aryan to forget about that incident after which he sits quietly till we finally reach his building while in the mean time I call Avni again and tell her to be down in a minute and hung up on her angrily. I decide to take Aryan to the watchmen first and ask for his house number. As I walk towards watchmen cabin two burly figure come out and I freeze seeing a similar face, all my prayers going in vain as they come unanswered right in front of me.
I could notice my backgrounds moving, Aryan's hand slipping from mine as he jumps on the person in front of him who catches him and spins them around laughing and chatting away while I can't take my eyes off the person right in front of me. He takes a step back and so do I, as we stare in bewilderment at each other with wide eyes and hanging mouth. I can't believe I Am seeing those chocolate ores again which haunted me the whole night. Someone's hand on my shoulder makes me squeal bringing me back to reality.
"Kriti are you Ok?" Avni asks and continues looking between me and them "And why-who-uhh- what happened? Why were you calling me so many times? And I'm sorry for not answering, actually I had some guests in house so I was busy."
"I-uh..I just..I came to drop Aryan to his home since he seemed lost back at the park but I guess he have now found his-.." I trail off looking at the boy now holding a very happy aryan.
"Brother." That boy reply while I take in his features consisting of a French beard, brown eyes and messy black hairs.
"Yes...his brother."I state again dumbly. Still not believing what's happening. The fact that I magically found a certain lost child or the fact that, that 'lost child' is somehow connected to the person who broke into my house not 24 hours ago. Oh, no what if he lives near me? Should I tell someone? Should I report it? Should I-
"Krittika!"Avni's voice startled me again. "What's wrong with you?Are you OK"
No I'm not. But I just nod my head at her too distracted with my inner battles. Should I tell her?
A quite young frantic women somehow looking similar though I haven't seen her before comes running towards us. She quickly engulfs aryan in her arms crying and apologizing repeatedly. I instantly tune her as his mother and Avni confirms it for me with a nod. She looks up at me with gratitude and finally asks my name when shes done sobbing and consoling her son and herself. She even called someone to tell them that she found aryan. Probably her husband.
I glance at that guy feeling a bit wary about announcing my name to him though I'm sure he heard mine and avni's conversation. But One look at the grateful face that aryan's mothers has for me is all it took for me to open my mouth, "Krittika Kumar, Mam." I say smiling at her. And also addressed that I'm friends with Avantika and explain her the whole story on how I found her son lost and crying inside a park to how I got him here, back to his home.
"Oh my goodness! Thank you so so much Krittika. I'm so thankful of you I cant even express it right now. You gave my Life back to me." she says looking at aryan and hands him back to that guy to come forward and hug me. As I hug her back I let my inner turmoil sway as I watch aryan happily bounce to that guy who is now smiling at him.
Oh goodness he looks so Good with a smile!
Oh shoot. Did I just say that!
Then Aryan's mom takes hold of both my hands and looks up with sincerity towards me,"I am very very grateful of you Krittika. I can never thank you enough for what you did. I had taken him out for a walk and a very important business call came which got my attention for a few moments and when I looked back aryan was not there. I got so panicked and tried to search everywhere for him but I couldn't find him. Then I though that maybe he came back home, so I came here but he was not here either so we were just heading out to search again for him, when you came in with my son like an Angel." she smiled widely at me taking a deep breath she continued again. "Oh I'm aryan's Mom by the way if you haven't guessed already." I chuckle a bit at that.
